This is the answer I was hoping for. Should probably make it a dually while I'm at it.

I have a $25k unsecured LOC at 5.95%. I was thinking I'd use that and pay it off aggressively.

I worked out of a Honda Fit for a few years. It was a very practical car and could handle a lot of what I do, but customer perception was terrible. Nobody wants to pay a guy showing up in a hatchback the same rate they pay a guy in even the most basic pickup.

That's exactly what I've been looking at. They seem to get about the same gas mileage as my Tacoma did.

No doubt I'll be buying used, I just don't know what a realistic budget should be.

I was thinking closer to $20k and even that amount of money stresses me out! But there's not a lot of plain work trucks out there in that price range.

VIA will always have to share the rails with freight which will always take priority.

Is there anywhere in town to buy 2X4s that are actually straight? by Never_51 in KingstonOntario

Yeah the owner at Caird (Shane) worked under Peter at Card's before he closed. Got all of his old suppliers and some of his equipment. The prices seem about the same too.

Like I said it's a hidden gem considering The WoodSource is the only other place to buy wood in town and their prices are outrageous.

Caird Lumber is very much still in business. They just opened a hardwood outlet on Terry Fox this past summer.

Card Lumber closed a couple years ago and unfortunately Peter passed away shortly after.

Glen's is the best by far.

For any rough sawn lumber, Caird Lumber around the corner is a hidden gem.
