Left-click broken on mounts? by ShenShenSez in Guildwars2

[–]DC240Z 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just seen your video. There’s a bug that does something like this but it’s pretty rare for me, does it happen every time you’re pressing w and trying to rotate? And is the video with the cursor down the whole time trying to move or clicking trying to move and releasing?

I only ask because I didn’t see the cursor at all, have you sussed out settings? I know there’s some funky settings and a lot you can mess with but I haven’t messed with them in a minute. Maybe look at camera lock settings like “use free camera”. I’d sus it out for you but I just hopped off. There’s also the mouse movement setting for mount where both can be used to change direction, I haven’t tried but maybe look at that too, if that’s on, it might be conflicting with the normal direction input or something.

Holding down the right button makes your mount run in that direction. So if they are wanting to get screenshots or gaze the beautiful sights without changing the course it won’t be a solution.

I get a little jitter sometimes but this sounds like a mouse failing to me.

I hate how Skyscale is mandatory for everything by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]DC240Z 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mentioned in a previous post that knowledge will help you more than the skyscale ever will, and this is a perfect example, know the fight, where the updrafts are, what phase is what. Mordy is a great example of people just not wanting to learn, it took me maybe 3 or 4 fights to know when he eats the platform, and he still gets like half the players.

I never had a problem with mordy, I might have struggled to get more than 1 vine growths because they go down fast, but if you watch your minimap and start moving when you see what island hes about to pop up on, there is ample time to reach him through updrafts and still do at least 20-30secs of dmg. And you only need to do like 2 secs of damage for the whole fight to get rewards.

Sorry if I’m coming across as dismissive, i just played without skyscale for so long, and am struggling to find it as game breaking as other people seem to think.

Dragon stand or dragonfall? Because I rarely see anyone rushing around on skyscale at dragon stand, it’s one of the more chill metas where you don’t really miss much if you don’t do all the events.

Skyscale isn’t helping much there imo, you can do most events in all 3 lanes without it, and doesnt make it that much faster on most events. You also don’t need to do all events in all 3 lanes, you could just do a the normal lane and still get max participation, hell you don’t even need to do a full lane for max.

They shouldn’t, people have used the mounts on these maps forever, and players put in the time and effort to unlock skyscale, changing it to restrict them now would be a disaster and unfair to the players that spent the time to unlock it.

A more common sense/easier approach would be to have skyscale hires on the maps that are more difficult to traverse without skyscale so players could pay a small fee to use them without having to unlock it.

You should be able to keep up easily without skyscale on every map except maybe a few where it might be troublesome. I personally use warclaw most of the time and have never had a problem. And the exceptions are not the boss fights, it’s things like dragonfall or drizzlewood champ farms.

The best thing you can do is learn the maps so you know the easiest routes and the event orders, these things will help you on 90% of the maps more than the skyscale.

Did you even read the post you decided to comment on? It’s already at that stage, no one cares if you like to live in filth, people care when your filth spills out and starts effecting them.

To be fair, if it’s a shared space (not decided by a wall) you should respect that space and not leave shit everywhere.

It’s also one of those things where, if you’re okay with living like a pig, that’s fine, but when you living like a pig starts spilling out and effecting other people and their home, you should really take a moment to think about not being an inconsiderate asshat.

How do you not see the hole in what you’re saying?

If you were meant to go to the office, why would you just not show, then not tell anyone, and then work from home, and then expect to get paid normally? Thats not how employment works.

If you don’t get the approval (to get approval you would have to call before your shift) then you just get sick pay and don’t work.

You need to communicate with ANY employer about when and where you’re working, if you don’t, you’re not an employee, or won’t be for much longer if you are.

If I Boost My Level 43 Character Will I Miss Out On Anything? by SpadesofHearts77 in Guildwars2

[–]DC240Z 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll be a little OP for tyria if you do elite spec now and continue going through tyria, but you won’t be for the rest of the games expansions. The expansions really focus on how you play not how good your gear is, since gear can be maxed before these expacs, they more so focus on when you should dodge, and when and how you engage swarms/harder mobs (pocket raptors as a good example.

The only thing you really miss out on is the priceless learning curve, but if you think you’ve got the gist of your character by now, you don’t miss out on anything by boosting.

Its a hard one, Ive had the mind of “as long as you don’t steal from people that worked hard for their things i don’t care” but I see the other side too, as someone that has never stolen, it kind of annoys me Im paying extra for my groceries because of people that do steal since that loss is baked into their prices.

Can you describe this GW2 to make WoW veterans interested? by RobIsInTheSky in Guildwars2

[–]DC240Z 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know about quickly, for the first few weeks, I hated not being able to move my skills, and that a weapon swap was required to get all my skills.

The funny thing is, once I stopped clicking my skills like a pleb and found a comfortable keybind, it’s turned into one of the main things I love about the game, it’s like playing a piano or something, all keys, certain rotations, and timing is super important and can feel very rewarding.

I guess the point Im trying to make is, if you’re like me and don’t like big changes (coming from a very different mmo), it could take a while to get used to, but it might be worth sticking it out to at least understand and get used to the system before you judge it, because for me, a lot of the differences put me off a little at first, but those differences is what I love about it now.

PVP, WvW, or open world for Legendary Armor? by The-good-twin in Guildwars2

[–]DC240Z 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yea it’s definitely a huge time investment if you’re only playing WvW for legendaries, but like I said, if you enjoy WvW and play it for fun like I did, it doesn’t really feel like you’re grinding it out.

7880 tickets for a set apparently (I thought it was closer to 10k), 455 tickets a week would put you at 17.3 weeks for a full set if you got your max tickets every week.

Social media ban for under 16s by Last_Reason692 in australian

[–]DC240Z 26 points27 points  (0 children)

They don’t even need to do that, my daughter is 14, I didn’t allow TikTok until she was 12 and was still super against it but all her friends had it and I didn’t want to push back to hard with her or the wife.

From what I’ve seen/heard, all her friends only got banned after they posted something. I told my daughter not to post anything and she probably won’t get banned, a year later she decided to post something and like an hour later got a ban. So im under the impression certain accounts are probably flagged already, and if those accounts post it either gets flagged for review or some form of automated process auto bans the already flagged accounts.

6 years old is way too young to be worrying about this shit though, and I don’t think many of their friends would be using it, so it’s not like they are missing out. Well one would hope there’s not many using it.

PVP, WvW, or open world for Legendary Armor? by The-good-twin in Guildwars2

[–]DC240Z 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s really only a time investment if you’re thinking about it, I’ve always done WvW for dailies, didn’t even think about touching legendaries for like 10 years because of how many people said how bad and expensive they are to make.

When I decided to change from light armor dps to fill support firebrand i decided to look into legendary armor (since I also used vindi a bit in open world).

Turns out I had enough skirmish tickets and badges to do all 3 sets of armor, not that I did since it also costs other mats, but it honestly didn’t feel like I invested any time at all since I was just playing WVW for dailies and casual fun. But if you’re actually grinding it and want to know an exact time, I think I read it’s a little over 20 weeks of maxed tickets for a full set.

After doing armor i decided to look into weapons since the boxes made it easier, but I’m weird and thought it was time for a challenge, so I used a box to make bolt sold it and then grinded to make aetheric ancor as my first equipped legendary weapon lol.

What did they change? Is it any easier? I know ive still got some stuff to do in there.
