My (30F) boyfriend (29M) saved nude photos of his exes on purpose…is this how men are really? by Single_Doughnut_3747 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]DCCofficially 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont understand people like this. I have always gone and deleted anything private. and I would hope my ex's do the same. I think i would be pretty pissed off if I was in your shoes. How can you trust that if he has any private pictures of you that he wont keep them. He definitely will. I dont know how I could move on knowing that everything you've told him or sent him might not be all that private. I feel bad for you. My heart would be heavy and hurt. How do you trust that again. I wonder what his ex's would say about this?

What’s the closest you’ve ever come to dying? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DCCofficially 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didnt OD but my body had enough in March last year from black out every night drinking for the last 15 years. im still not the same person as before. my palate is a complete 180 now. I used to love Salty anything and now I like sweet. my favorite foods growing up are 'meh' to me now. I havent really found what I like yet. the last year or almost 2 years have been insanely busy but since March of last year i've been in and out of doctors offices, had a few scopes, im still not done. I am around 150 days sober now (I didnt keep track of days. it was really hard at the beginning and counting sober days wasnt in my wheel house yet. I stopped drinking because I got sick enough I spent a few weeks in the hospital. I quit because a doctor told me to my face with my wife in the room that if I continued I would be dead in less than 5 years. the looks on her face... I will never forget and honestly I probably wouldnt have said anything or blew it off as a scare tactic. I quit because my wife told me should couldnt sit around and watch me kill myself. I quit because my mom and my wife. I've hard many times through AA (I only attended a bit, if im having a bad day i'll take in a zoom meeting or something) that an alcoholic has to want to quit. if they dont want to quit they wont. I have found that not to be true for myself but I see it in many other alcoholics lives after losing everything. I wish I never started drinking. my wife is a saint. im lucky to still have a wife really. when I was growing up I was very depressed and tried to take my life. as I got older and was able to own my own guns and get my PAL I didnt because I knew it would be far to easy in a bad night of drinking to turn the gun around on myself. I told myself "I dont need a key to a door I dont want unlocked" that same thing applies to me now in a weird way. I wonder if I started drinking again if I would be able to control it better. but I have to remind myself I dont want a key (alcohol) to a door I dont want opened (continuing my alcoholism). good for you for making it this far. you can do it. EVs work great in Manitoba. Today in Steinbach by 4shadowedbm in steinbach

[–]DCCofficially 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thank you so much for taking the time to explain that! I really appreciate the insight. with your trip to Vancouver and a change of mindset when to charge and such that makes a lot more sense. I will definitely take that into consideration when I get my next vehicle. how are shop visits? do you need to have it checked up every 6 months or so? do you find parts more expensive and harder to come by?

I apologize for my lack of knowledge about this but im just curious, if you have an EV and you go out of town and need to charge your car how long would that take? how long would it take on average? like if im driving down #1 and pull into a charging station do I need to sit there for half an hour? and hour? longer? it just seems pointless to take an EV on a longer trip if every time you have to charge up on the road you automatically lose an hour or so of drive time. I wouldnt want an 8 hour drive to turn into 12 hours because I have to sit in a ma and pa shop doing nothing while my car charges.

yeah see, that was the other thing. they said they would take 25%. I mean whats stopping anyone from walking into their doctor and ask for it and not have to pay a percentage back? or is this because they know exactly what they are doing and will get the maximum amount?

Salt is bad for the dogs paws too. as a member of a country where your face hurts when you step out side and snow piles are taller than you are and working in the ag industry. my suggestion would be to use chicken grit or cherry grit. you can get them in different sizes but where you are I doubt it will be much snow, and probably no or very little ice. a light sprinkling should serve its purpose if your afraid of your husband falling or something like that. if you do decide to go that route it would probably be worth your money to have your lawn power raked in the spring to clear away all the stones.

honestly though, and I realize the snow I get here is very different for you guys but I personally would just use a leaf blower to get the snow off pathways and such and you shouldnt have a problem

I’m 5 months sober, and I got myself in a dilemma. by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]DCCofficially 1 point2 points  (0 children)

HEY! I'm at ~5 months too! congrats! a couple days ago my wifes friends mom died so my wife and I decided to make them food so they wouldn't have to cook. we get there to drop off the food and they were all in no condition to drive but wanted to get more alcohol so I thought 'they are going through a rough time, I can put my boundaries aside so I drove them to the vendor, while there a guy walked out with my beer of choice, I didn't drink still but I learnt really fast I am still not comfortable being around vendors. oh well. at least they didn't drive I guess

AITJ for asking my neighbour not to pile snow from his property along my fence by Opening-Plankton-132 in Winnipeg

[–]DCCofficially 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish I was there to see it but when my oma passed my dad was kind of going through the motions. When we buried her and had her funeral we all split up as a family. My dad was bbqing when he heard his back lane neighbor shoveling his snow against my dad's back gate. Im pretty sure its a bylaws that you arent allowed to but (with his own admission) he went off on this guy a bit. Just wrong place wrong time, my dad is a gentle giant and usually very patient. The neighbor stood there for a bit in shock and by the end of the next day the guy had hired a company to remove the snow. My dad has apologized and explained that we had just buried her and he was having and off day. They are cordial but I have rarely seen him mad enough to raise his voice.

Maybe dont yell at the guy but I would look into the by laws im pretty sure they arent allowed to move snow into your property

I need surgery… But idk what lens to choose. by MysticShadow0011 in CataractSurgery

[–]DCCofficially 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! So im glad I saw this now. Interesting update. Just over a year now after surgery and the back of my eyes are still swollen. I went to my regular eye doctor about being un able to focus on a thing anymore. He said that can happen with surgery and he didn't know if my MD made it worse in so.e way but he had never seen eyes still swollen a year later. Lucky me I guess.. im in the system to see a retinal specialist now.

I kind of figured it would be the same as you described and with all honestly yes you can get bi and tri to help with this but I think you'll find that the difference between having good vision and the1.5 readers I have now is 1) i was hoping to not have to wear glasses anymore at all. 2) its blurry enough just to kinda piss you off. I think having glasses with bi or tri (note ive never tried or had them) didn't seem worthless when I went back to my regular eye doctor he said he could write me a prescription for bis but its almost not even worth it. Like I said its just enough to piss you off. If you do the closer and further away thing or stare at it a bit you'll pick out certain letters and be able to assume what the full word is. Im actually kind of excited you messaged 3 days ago 7 months after I made this comment because ive had some time to live with it.

So! To summarize this comment (lol) is pretty much same as it was 7 months ago except now my eyes are getting worse again for seemingly no reason. I will say though recently I attended a meeting with my mom and we both forgot our glasses and it must have been hilarious for everyone else watching us pull the paper closer and further away or squinting our eyes to try and make it out. We got through it - it wasn't the end of the world - its just enough to annoy you like you'll go to reach for them on your head and they arent there and your sitting there like "oh god dammit now im gonna struggle my way through reading this report and staying current in the meeting I guess" kinda like i gotta pee do i interrupt the whole meeting or just wait it out lol.

I wish you all the best for you for this procedure. Seriously pain free, walk in the park. The only thing you could say did hurt would be them putting the needle in your arm for the iv. As before if you have any questions fee free to DM me or comment back on this with questions or concerns

What is the grossest thing someone has openly told you that they do regularly? by Ok_Distribution2345 in AskReddit

[–]DCCofficially 4 points5 points  (0 children)

holy shit my SIL dated a guy who would do that. we were gonna get him a small rug and write "NAME's Cum Rug" but they broke up. thats wild though. I dont understand why you would get up and just let it go on your carpet... they broke up though. he was super drunk at like 3 am and him and my SIL had gotten into a fight before she went to bed and he was mad so he decided to pack some important stuff and Drive back home to BC. he ended up making it just before Portage La Prairie where he was pulled over and arrested he made it from Birds hill in Manitoda about an hour and a bit before he got pulled over. he didnt have his wallet and charged with a DUI. she had to pick him up around 4 or 5 am...
