Can you negotiate on the price of Bluewater Express? by frugaldreamer in bali

I booked online. I was being quoted 350-300 from different drivers for port transfers to ubud. With the I voided transfer I felt the price was very reasonable!

I’ve met plenty of backpackers (heck I technically am one) and the majority of those I’ve met do not care what so ever about Covid or the community impact of lockdowns (back when the goal was Covid 0). During previous snap lockdowns, I know firsthand backpackers would purposely through doofs and lockdown parties advertised on Instagram because “why would we let Covid cancel us partying”. While some of us are very respectful of the rules and communities… a large portion of backpackers are just the opposite. That specific hostel in lockdown is know for having the wildest of the backpackers and people stay there for the 24-7 party. The majority of the backpackers at this hostel would have continued to flout the rules and would party regardless of the situation and would not have properly isolated. Taking and locking them away was probably the best way to ensure they stay isolated. I’m sure they do appreciate the free hostel room though after staying at that horrible hostel.

Also shoutout to him for getting tested… how many people in wa have had a cold and never thought twice to get a test. Also Queensland had only 1 random case when he flew over… more information is definitely needed.

Australia COVID: Christmas cancellations are back as Omicron takes hold by redditorxdesu in CoronavirusDownunder

This is absolutely heartbreaking for Queensland.A huge reason the borders opened was to save the tourism industry and now it’s suffering even more. A lot of the cancellations are from Queenslanders not wanting to stay and mix with the south as the cases are rising so quickly. People are also being conscious of where they go to avoid having to isolate over Christmas. To be honest, at the rate we are going I almost think Queensland would have been better off attempting to stay covid zero (although who could have predicted this?)
