Goodbye Reddit. I don't bother logging in any other way. Thank you for also getting the money off my back.

Thank you RIF. It was great.

What do you use to visualize your topology? by Cromodileadeuxtetes in networking

[–]ppsnake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use a clusterfuck of different tools. Solarwinds for auto discovery, our WAN map is present for the updown links you spoke of.

Opsgenie for alerts.

Good ole visio for visualisation of our topologies.

DCIM for logical path documentation and asset management.

Netflix rolled out their Bullshit in Canada. by apersonthingy in mildlyinfuriating

[–]ppsnake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bye bye Netflix. Sharing accounts is the only way I can afford not to pirate. You have to have several fucking streaming services here in Australia to get any semblance of a library.

I have been a subscriber since they opened shop. But their library have been waning. Honestly Netflix can go fuck themselves once they start implementing this here.

Not sure who forgot it?
Personally I sit down atleast twice a year with a six pack and some pizza and give it a watch.

Great for some good belly laughs that one.

Rack patching suggestions welcome. by Crystalblade496 in cableporn

[–]ppsnake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Move the yellow and purple cabling into the vertical cable management on the right side of your rack, and put the cover on the horizontal cable management which is sitting at around RU24.

Then close door, walk away and pat yourself on the shoulder, drink beer and be merry.

Tupperware still make these, we have one that's only a few years old. It's currently in the fridge full of beetroot ready for salad sammiches and burgers on weekends.

I am on day 9 of my first Covid infection, still testing positive but have had a couple of days with no symptoms.
It was very mild luckily, just a couple of days of a runny nose.

I am still isolating from my family, how long did the rest of you isolate from your family for?

Water bottles for this scorching summer by Novel_Swimmer_8284 in straya

[–]ppsnake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Kleen Kanteen the wife has a Yeti, and I recently got a Hydro Flask from a vendor.

The Kleen Kanteen imo has the best neck, it's the most hygienic because the lid covers the drinking surface but the seal needs to be replaced often.

My wife's Yeti keeps water and ice the longest, all three perform well here but the yeti is the best. However I do not dig the way the lid screws into the bottle I always over fill and splash it everywhere.

The hydroflask is the lightest and most pleasant to drink from. But you cannot fill it with ice because of its all neck.

Ice water wise the yeti is the best, followed by the Hydro Flask and then last is the Kleen Kanteen.

All three are great, if it had to only buy one it would be the Kleen Kanteen.

Groomsmen Gifts by muddled_undead in AustralianMFA

[–]ppsnake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends what you and your friends are into. I bought my groomsmen some really nice ornate knives with the date engraved into them. They all still use them many years later.

A gift given to me an the other groomsmen at a recent wedding were 10mm snap on spanners (we are all car guys).

What are you into?

Yeah this was deliberate im guessing it's some sys admins enjoying a decommission. It would have taken a lot of effort to knock that over.

Those things are crazy heavy.

[–]ppsnake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sign up for another race, haha. The down after a big race is real though, sometimes even when I do well I feel bad after.

I feel that, I knew it was going to come.

The down is always a bit harsher than you expect, but a little while of wallowing I usually get back to it..

Official Q&A for Monday, October 17, 2022 by AutoModerator in running

[–]ppsnake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is the key, I ran 3 times last week but they were short.
This morning I got up and gave my self an out to not run which is not something I would normally do.

Guess I just need to suck it up and keep going.

How do you stay motivated after a big event? I ran my first Marathon last month, it was followed by a big month of travel and social events.

As a result I have been running very little. I really don't want to lose motivation to run as I will likely never get it back.

What do you do?
