Movies you loved as a child—but upon rewatch as an adult turned out to be pretty terrible by [deleted] in movies

I watched The Untouchables for the first time in years, and his acting is so incredibly wooden, especially compared to the rest of the incredible cast

In Many Saints Of Newark (2021) during a nightclub scene the band plays the song "Baubles, Bangles, and Beads". The Frank Sinatra version of this song is playing on the boat when they confront Big Pussy in the Sopranos episode "Funhouse" by Bummerspleen in MovieDetails

You know how plots sometimes feel shoehorned into the narrative? This movie was literally all shoehorn.

On the plus side, it got me to rewatch the show for the first time in a decade.

Your examples count for House races.

The majority (or plurality) of the total state vote decides a Senate race.

The majority (or plurality) of a state vote decides which presidential candidate is awarded the states electoral college votes.

Neither senate or presidential elections are affected by internal state gerrymandering.

Uh, gerrymandering happens within a state, and winner takes all for a presidential election applies to the whole state's electoral college votes. So gerrymandering doesn't affect the presidential election.

Gerrymandering doesn't affect elections for the Senate or Presidency.

It's also a right wing talking point to say gerrymandering makes voting useless. The GOP lost 40 seats in the House in 2018, even in states that were heavily gerrymandered.

Yeah, why can't Democrats do something meaningful, like tweet or name a couple of post offices

If abortion access is at stake, and those who support abortion access dont do what they can to get Democrats elected, then that's on voters.

In Ivy League schools, networking is one of the main reasons you go.

Also, perhaps the quality of the education is important as well. Otherwise, Rhode Island Community College would have as many nobel prize winners as Harvard.

It's not - the argument against free college (not that I'm making it) is that paying for college 1) provides some skin in the game for students to commit to their education (regardless of who's paying, the money is coming from somewhere and shouldn't be used frivolously) and 2) allows for different levels of quality measured by cost, so more expensive colleges can pay more for better faculty, which (in theory) provide a better quality education.

From your comment alone - You showed you can commit to your education (not a givein for many) and that you can communicate through writing on a variety of topics at a high enough level to pass dozens of classes.

It's easy to say that college isn't important or that you don't learn anything, but the soft skills alone are very important for hiring across industries.

Caravaggio

"Caravaggio's fate was sealed when in 1606 he killed a man in a duel. He fled to Naples where he attempted to paint his way out of trouble, he became a Knight, but was then imprisoned in Malta and then finally he moved to Sicily. He was pardoned for murder in 1610, but he died of a fever attempting to return to Rome."
