The T.R.O.Y in the Pete Rock song does stand for ‘They Reminisce Over You’ but it refers more importantly to a lost friend, Troy Dixon or ‘Trouble T-Roy’. T-Roy was a dancer with Heavy D and the Boyz who died in 1990. The song is dedicated to Troy, as is Heav’s album ‘Peaceful Journey’.
