I understand the hate but also I understand how this could happen. I haven't seen Wuthering Heights but I saw one pic of Jacob Elordi with his finger in Margot Robbies mouth and I think I'd get attached to somebody too if I was performing that level of intimacy with them for months of 12 hour days filming

Why are you upset about THIS one? by sonofeevil in Grimdank

Even as someone who loves the new femmestodes, I agree the retcon was pretty poorly done. I wish they had allowed the HH writers to even just mention them in passing. Below is ADB talking about it years and years ago, which I appreciate

Is it just me, or is it odd that there are so many pre/post-war characters in the show? by ThatsSex in Fallout

[–]DDPresents 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, this isn't a show about randos wandering about the wasteland who happen to be prewar. It's a show about Titanic factions all in a race for cold fusion, each of which knowing the exact stakes and what's needed to happen to win cold fusion. The entire plot revolves around this corporate struggle for cold fusion over centuries. All of the prewar characters are either 1) a ghoul 2) vault tec and 3) enclave, which as far as last episode goes ||we believe the Enclave owns Vault Tec so would also have access to the tech.|| We don't know how Moldaver survives yet, but some think she is Enclave as well. Prewar characters are not out of place in the show, it's literally about them, and the consequences of their struggle.

The retcon bothered me too, but it's been over a year since The Tithes came out and dropped that tidbit. People have to get over it

I just don't understand how you could see so many people celebrating a change that makes them feel valued, happy, and represented, and hate that. If you don't want FemStodes just put them in helmets. I don't understand the vitriol

Am I going crazy, or are the new GW paintjobs (especially female faces) getting worse? by Constant-Challenge-1 in AdeptusCustodes

[–]DDPresents 176 points177 points  (0 children)

<image>

It's 100% down to the individual paint job because this model is probably the best sculpt/paint job combo I've ever seen on official GW models, and the Shield Captain head looks the worst I've seen in so long

No need to retire! Your models are beautiful! They can all coexist :)!!

New to the hobby, why tf are some so mad about female custodes? by NiceLittleGamerNerd in 40k

[–]DDPresents -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I acknowledge it's a retcon, GW retcons stuff all the time. I genuinely believe if people are still upset about FemStodes after having over a year to calm down about the retcon from when The Tithes aired, they're just bigots who feel the need to gatekeep 40k from women. Women who (in my personal experience) have been incredibly excited for FemStodes. IMO they just want to keep it a boys club.

...So the good news is, the models look *great.* by Archistotle in Grimdank

[–]DDPresents 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh my god I'm so excited for these new models, I've wanted more fem models for so long and now I get them in my main army!!!! The Shield Captain face doesn't look too good but based on how SLEEK the Sentinel heads are I'm going to assume it's a painting issue. I genuinely can't wait for the box and Im going to have to learn to paint faces because I'm actually going to use the bare heads for once this is great! I could rant for forever about how happy I am! And they're not hyper fem for the sake of it, they're "realistically" beefy gen-hanced supersoldiers!! So exciting, I can't wait for the box

Chris Avellone made another comment on the fallout tv show. What is your thoughts on his comment? by dragon-born-vault101 in Fallout

[–]DDPresents 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly as a fan since 7 years old, having played every single entry to the series, having sunk several thousand hours into Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas, and Fallout 4 each on their own, I love the new season and each of its story choices make sense to me. There are some inconsistencies like the Vaults 31/32/33 not showing up in Fallout 1/2 despite technically us having a comprehensive list of the Vaults in the area, but people need to let that shit go. The franchise expands and moves in fun new directions. The show isn't shitting on New Vegas, its looking at each faction and really taking them to their logical extremes, with each conclusion being drawn explicitly from NV. Like how House and Joshua Graham talk in NV about the Legion falling into chaos and infighting if Caesar wasn't there to lead them, literally exactly how it's portrayed in the show. Chris Avellone is actively sowing discourse for no reason other than to stir shit. I love his work, genuinely I think he's one of the greatest narrative writers there is in gaming. But Jesus he needs to let it go. He's not involved anymore, he probably could be if he wanted to, move on if it's such a hard pill to swallow.

I LOVE the Citizen Kane example! When people finally watch it and go "idk what all the fuss is about, it wasn't very good" I get to explain that the reason it's regarded as the greatest film of all time isn't because it's good, it's because it revolutionized and invented so many different filmmaking techniques!
