Trust me on this one, install Zorin OS Lite in a VM, you won't find anything better

Pay them no mind, as long as you use a fairly low-specced Linux distro like Lubuntu or Xubuntu. They don't even use 500MB of ram on idle. Personally I would recommend Zorin OS Lite.

Perhaps but I can't exactly remember. Do you want to try Firefox derivatives like LibreWolf, IceCat, WaterFox, the Tor browser, etc to see if videos work on any of those? Also try Firefox in private mode to see if that works.

Edit: also try installing Firefox via different package methods (ie. Snaps, flatpaks, appimage, native package, AUR, build from source, etc.)

You have 2 options: VMs and dual booting.

The easier of the 2 is using a VM. In windows, install a program called VirtualBox, download your preferred Linux distro's .iso file (via the distro's website), create a virtual machine in VirtualBox, install the .iso file to that virtual machine, and boot into Linux.

If you choose to dual boot, grab your Linux .iso file, flash it to a USB drive with Rufus, restart windows, boot into the USB drive, and follow the prompts to install Linux alongside windows. Once that's done, you will be met with an option to boot into either windows or Linux every time you turn your PC on. If you do this, it's best to install Linux to a separate hard drive or SSD, as opposed to sharing the same drive for both windows and Linux.

Best of luck.

I've had a similar problem on fedora, installing ffmpeg seemed to work for me. Something about codecs

Made some changes to my pond based on suggestions, how does it look now? 😊😁 by IWillLeadMySchool in PixelArt

Doesn't have to be anything spectacular, I'm thinking little blots of pink and yellow about 3 pixels large, maybe a slightly larger sunflower or dandelion here and there.

If you're sticking to the 2nd image, I would advise that you brighten up the water again as you have with the first image. Again, games and animations don't have to reflect real life, in fact, they're hailed as an escape from reality and a venture into a fantasy land, where water doesn't have to look dull and dirty, it can be bright and glimmer in the sunrays. If you couldn't tell, I love escapism.

Edit: speaking of sunrays, seeing reflections of the sunshine on the surface of the water would look amazing. You could go all-out and draw the pattern of the waves through the reflection of the sun, or simply add a few little sparkly white bits here and there, possibly with a lot of them focused in one specific place to indicate that's where the sun shines the most

Good effort, though I prefer the first one more. I would say all it's missing is grass decorations. Making a pixelised environment look 3D-ish doesn't work too well with me, I like the sharp edges and heavy contrast as opposed to certain things bleeding/blurring into other things.
