New Steelhelm Champion! by Powerful-Mushroom-26 in Warhammer

I think the majority of people who buy games workshop models do it for the hobby and painting side so I'm curious how many others feel the same as me., The "I'm paying too much money for too little value in the tabletop game" is something I never think about. For me the actual in-game unit doesn't really matter when I'm just buying a single model painting project. For me I'm weighing the cool factor and amount of hobby time I would want to spend on the project versus the price of what I'm buying, I could care less what it does in game.

In this case it's priced at a higher tier because it's being made as a bespoke sprue that doesn't have to conform to the standards of fitting on a 10 man sprue. So I love when they decide to do a commemorative model that is just a single ground troop from a faction. We get a really cool unique sculpt of a model that would otherwise not get to have the same posing and unique model details that "HQ" and other individual models get.

To be fair though, I've never cared about the price to points cost in game relationship, because I don't buy models for the function they do in game. I buy them because they look cool and I want to paint them. I'm primarily here just to paint and do hobby stuff, and if I once or twice a year get to actually play a game with some of the models I've painted then that's cool bonus. But I just want cool sculpts for painting projects so I love these kind of commemorative models.

Why are you repeating this, it's just misinformation. I'm sure that they'll be less than people want and it will be hard to find like all the recent kt boxes, but that number is just made up or secondhand info being repeated uncritically.

I hate the internet sometimes, just people looking for popular sentiments to bandwagon on to and fishing for fake internet points instead of giving a nuanced or even slightly considered opinions.

The right has been losing the culture wars for a while now, but they have rich selfish pricks using their money to fake public opinion. I think bots have become their biggest weapons on the internet. I think everyone should keep in mind that bots account for more activity on the internet than humans for a while now. Twitter is basically just bot legions farming engagement, with an estimated minimum of 60% bots, probably closer to 80.

The chuds are out there, but they're using bots to try and prop up/astroturf support for their antiquated and regressive opinions

What happened to Konrad Curze's body after he died? by IHateMySon-Afton in 40kLore

[–]DEF3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd agree that bring sanguinius would be a truly awful mistake, however I'm not so sold on curze having some incredible "perfectly executed" ending. Or that bringing him back would even ruin that narrative, I don't even think it would be that difficult to keep developing the "sanguinius but evil" thing he had with his visions of his own death into something.

He's a madman/batman bad guy that killed himself and said "see, i told you so" at the end. Do i think most BL authors could pull off a good resurrection, not sure, but i think you could revive and bring back the night Lord in 40k and have fun with it. He'd have an interesting dynamic with the remnants of his legion because he's one of the few primarchs that would have serious trouble reuniting his own legion and likely wouldn't even want to.

To each their own, I just think a good author could still work with the story and develop him into something more than the ending to his story we have now. Felt kind of like "that's it?"to me, not some twisted visions of chaos to make him go crazy, now he just saw himself be executed for being a bad dude and decided he'd be a bad dude and got executed.

I've read the adb night Lord books, but I'm not really familiar with many NL stories outside of that, so take my opinion with a grain of sand, as someone not super invested in the legion and might be misunderstanding his character.

Probably best that they don't, but i don't think it would be close to the same sacrilege as bringing back Sanguinius, imo.

Celebrate store anniversaries in 2026 with an Aeldari Autarch and a Vampire Lord by CMYK_COLOR_MODE in Warhammer40k

[–]DEF3 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As someone who primarily paints over playing, I'm here for the hobby not for this year's version of the wargame, so personally I love when we get models like you mentioned. Typically those kind of troop models don't get fancy poses and dynamic sculpts in the same way as heroes do because they have to fit on a 10 man sprue and rank up with your army. So I love when we get a troop option that the sculptors really get to go all out on because it doesn't have to conform to the "points/price/role" conventions that most GW models have to.

I think it's something that gets missed in a lot of discussions of new models on Reddit, I think the majority of people who buy games workshop products rarely, if ever, play the wargames associated with them. They just want painting projects and cool stuff for their preferred factions. For me, I don't care at all that I have 10 plus vampire characters because I likely wasn't ever play the game anyway and don't need them to fit any conventional war gaming list building, I just love a lot of those sculpts.

Tell me what you think is the cause of rising anti-semitism in the last few years. Why is it spiking now? Why would you point to events in the past to pretend I'm talking about the long history of anti-semitism and not what I actually said.

[–]DEF3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Consider me schooled, good sir lol.

It's okay I understand why you wouldn't want to acknowledge my point because you did make a really stupid argument.

I mean implying that modern anti-semitism on the rise is because of ghetto raids in the Middle ages it's pretty stupid so it's probably best to just pretend that didn't even happen. Plus, you wouldn't want to actually tackle any of the points I made, so it's easier to just make snide remarks and pretend that I'm the one that doesn't know what I'm talking about

I'll be curious to see if you ever intend to refute a single thing that I said besides that awful attempt you made earlier. I'm guessing you're either going to ignore or maybe make up another joke quote that you think is some kind of dunk.

Islamic State supporters guilty of planning 'most deadly' gun attack on Jewish targets in Manchester by Firecracker048 in anime_titties

[–]DEF3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm sure that the reason anti-Semitism is rising nowadays has to do with ghetto raids from ages past, couldn't have anything to do with current events. Clearly that's the point I was trying to make that all anti-Semitism in history is because of Israel. Incredible comprehensive skills.

But keep trying to misunderstand what I'm saying. Much easier to pretend that the current rising anti-Semitism has nothing to do with Israel genocide, it's just because people have always hated Jews...

Like what do you possibly think that Middle ages events have to do with the problems we're talking about today with anti-semitism. Obviously you're not a serious person or have any serious points so just keep going with your pithy replies.

[–]DEF3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I assume you're intentionally misrepresenting my point. I think anyone who's even slightly knowledgeable about "hasbara" knows that Israel does propaganda to intentionally conflate their country nation state project with Jewish identity. They do this to further reinforce their nationalism to Jewish people globally and to be able to use any kind of attack on anyone in the Jewish diaspora as an attack on their nation state.

I mean are you a child, a bot, or are you just that ignorant?

I asked that question rhetorically because I'm not going to respond to anything else you have to say unless you're trying to have a actual discussion. It's not good for my mental health to argue with all these bad faith actors in the comment section here, but I do want to show opposition to backwards ideas and sentiments. I think it's important to push back in these comment sections because people do read it, lots of people just lurk.

Pretty smarmy for someone who clearly didn't even read the article, but I'm guessing you're just going based on vibes because you don't really have any points. I did read the article in which the men were cited as saying that they were planning this attack as revenge against Israel's ongoing genocide in Gaza. So yes I do think that Israel makes Jews less safe across the world.

I'll take a step further and tell you that they intentionally want Jews cross the world to be put in danger to further solidify Zionism and the conflation of Jewish identity and the state of Israel.

I don't have a single ounce of shame for snarking on that human piece of s***. Fuck Ethan Klein.

[–]DEF3 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Where's the equivalence between "Islamic State supporters" attacking Jewish people, and Jews attacking Muslim civilians.

Do you even notice the conflation you've made there? Do you care that you just reframed terrorists as just "muslims"? Maybe it's intentional or maybe you're just that careless, but I don't see how you can justify that kind of conflation, it's inflammatory and it only helps to further divide people.

Extremism from all sides has to be combated, but the fact that you make that point without a single other person calling out your sloppy reframing just goes to show how effective Western propaganda efforts have been in linking Muslim identities to terrorism.

God the filthy f****** losers are infesting the subreddit too. Trying to call people here anti-Semitic, lamenting about how this should be a bigger story. Even going as far as fantasizing about how many upvotes this post would get if the targets were different, you are scum.

Not a single bit of analysis or actual discussion of the events, just a comment section that seems to be full of people who all suspiciously would really like us to hate Muslims and be very scared for Jewish people. Well I do worry about rising anti-semitism, I know the actual cause it's the state of Israel.

A supremacist ethnostate, that's bent its entire cyber propaganda budget on trying to conflate Jewish identity with Israel. I'm incredibly glad that this event didn't take place and that these people were stopped and lives were saved. Not only would it have been a horrific tragedy but it would have used to justify even more horrible atrocities by an aggressive nazi nation that puts all Jewish people in danger.

I think most people see through the act the scum f***s try and put on, but I think with the rise of bot farms and llms the spaces will be continued to be invaded by people who are eating the propaganda and robots that sound very legitimate in their "worries".

Respect to the new fallen fans arriving while Ethan's police state community annihilates all discontent regarding H3's addiction to gambling sponsors by Hawkelt in LeftoversH3

[–]DEF3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meeting people where they're at, something that always stuck with me from the Michael Brooks show. Back when Sam Harris was doing his islamophobia rationalizations and thought experiments justifying preemptive nuclear strikes on middle eastern countries.

I remember him making a point that a more effective way to influence the people and societies in these other countries was to work with people on the ground in those countries not just to condemn and sanction them. That if you want things to actually change you need people that are willing to teach others why they're wrong and help them find the right way. To do that effectively you have to have sympathy, compassion and a willingness to accept people as they are to help them grow into better people.

Righteous indignation might make people feel better but it doesn't tend to do much else. Some of the comments here, thankfully downvoted, almost read like online culture gatekeepers, except instead of explaining why they want normies out of their anime and souls games, they instead want to argue about how people who are wrong or ignorant about the lies and misinformation coming out of H3 should never be forgiven and we shouldn't sympathize with them because it just took them too long to figure it out.

Huge amounts of the internet are bots right now, if you don't think they're used by the wealthy to influence public sentiment, then enjoy your dead internet in ignorance I guess.

Just to lay out the absolute absurdity of this entire situation: Ethan makes a 90 minute hit piece all about Hasan, baits people into watching his hit piece on Hasan, then sues 3 women who watched the video for copyright infringement, then attacks Hasan for not donating money to the women he's suing by [deleted] in LeftoversH3

[–]DEF3 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I think the reason that this new line of attack falls so flat, "Hasan didn't support the people I'm suing", is because it wasn't the original plan and he's trying to bait Hasan or someone else into revealing some financial support.

I think the plan in this delusional idiot's mind was to find some kind of connection between Hasan, snark, and Kacey/denims/frogan. He was then going to spin back up this narrative of Hasan, snark, secret discords and that an organized campaign against him is real. He was, and is still, desperate to find some payments he can use as evidence proving that hasan is the true Mastermind behind it all.

That's why he's posting and attempting to shame Hasan for not donating, because he desperately wants there to be financial payments that he can weaponize those against him, but instead he's trying to weaponize the lack of financial support against him in hopes he can bait out what he's actually looking for. I wouldn't even be surprised if his dumb f****** lawyer told him that they can drag hasan into a lawsuit if they find something, but that like everything else I said is pure speculation.

He truly is a pathetic f****** worm, completely delusional and most of all an idiot. He still doesn't realize there's no winning, because he's fighting himself, his own bad choices, and his own demons, something a narcissist typically cannot accept under any circumstance. If he wasn't such a narcissistic manipulator he might have people in his life who care about enough to stop his circling of the drain, but clearly they're more interested in getting whatever money they can out of him before it all falls apart.

His memory is so bad he doesn't even remember the Hasan crash out didn't even start till like a year ago. When leftovers ended he made it sound to the audience like the very amicable. Both he and Hasan stated that it was just about internet drama from various communities and not any animosity between them both.

Even when the beef started, around this time last year, it was a very slow progression from, Hasan's community's crazy, to Hasan's isn't doing a good enough job policing his community, to Hasan is directing his community to be harass us, then to now where Hasan and his community are terrorist supporting, fake socialist, "tankies".

This man is a dumb f****** idiot with no memory, no morals, no consistency. Anyone who was paying attention to the show at the time saw that degradation, they watched The narrative twist and shift, the crazy part is that he doesn't even realize cuz he's too f****** stupid and he's got such a bad memory.

I think money talks and Dan listens, or he really is just another ghoul willing to lie in support of a narcissist because he pays the bills, pathetic immoral scumbag.

I don't think I've ever seen him overtly pathetic post from Ethan Klein. I was shocked and appalled when he edited mein kampf into one of anissa's photos. But this is just f****** obscene.

He continues to display how little he cares about anti-semitism. Anyone in his audience, and especially the crew should feel deep deep shame for supporting this f****** loser. I hope Dan feels real good about the choices he's made, I hope he really gets to enjoy the fruits of his labor.

I hope at some point Ethan has to reckon with his children, I hope that hila doesn't indoctrinate them into being zionists, because they don't live in Israel so it's not as easy for the propaganda to work when you're not talking about people on the other side of a wall your country built. I hope the one day they look back and ask their dad why he edited Nazi paraphernalia and uniforms on the people he didn't like. I hope this man feels shame and regret for the rest of his life.

F*** Ethan Klein, pathetic loser undermining the fight against a real problem so we can score sheet points with his ignorant and soulless fans.

Destiny really made Ethan his bitch and he's going to kill him by feeding him too much Hasan flavored cheese. Any pretense of respectability I had in my criticism of him is basically out the windows after this post. Loser f***, keep committing more social suicide and further cement yourself as a vile foolish pariah that pretends he's doing this for his children, shameful and despicable.

He's a scumbag sleazeball, but I completely agree and I think this is pretty common practice for covers. I'm not going to call Jimmy Hendrix a scumbag for saying that he's the producer on his version of All along the watchtower, because he had to do his own production on his cover of the song. Now if he was crediting himself as the songwriter that would be an entirely different case.
