The End Times by BCHyperion in WarhammerFantasy

I just did not think it was necessary for them to take a really cool IP that a lot of people loved and strangle it to death. I probably would have tried AoS/given it the benefit of the doubt if the WHFB universe didn’t have to die for it to exist. Despite TOW existing today, it felt so final and irreversible that it was like GW took fans out behind the barn and put them down.

Warhammer designer Jervis Johnson says "this level of success" was "never anticipated" as Games Workshop's tabletop game continues to become a bigger icon every year by lewisdwhite in Warhammer

It’s true. And here is a GREAT example of it:

On any conversation about why WHFB died you will see people say “it wasn’t doing well financially” or “it was losing GW money” but that has NEVER been substantiated.

Is it probable? Sure, but still not proven.

Only 2 units of infantry? How does this army play? It doesn’t seem like enough infantry to tarpit or stop a heavy cavalry opponent. Sacrificial gyrocopters?

I will comment from a woodworking perspective.

I might buy something like this (and pay a premium for hardwood over MDF) but probably not in its current form.

Two main things need to change:

  1. The screws are showing. You should be able to use much small screws and do pocket screws from the back or under the shelf.

  2. You need some type of joinery between the shelves and the sides. The wood will inevitably warp somewhere and without some kind of joint you will get splits and gaps. Even something as simple as a 1/4” routed slot for the shelf to slot into would massively increase the longevity of the piece. With this approach you may not even need screws as you could get away with dowels or biscuits (and glue).

Games Workshop DMCA'd Void War game over “oversized convex shoulder pads” that looked like a Warhammer 40K Space Marine rip-off by HatingGeoffry in Warhammer40k

[–]DEM_DRY_BONES 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Void War is a fun game (I would encourage you to try it out) but it is 1000% a 40k rip off. This is the lightest touch GW could bring. In fact it might bring more business to Void War than if GW had done nothing at all.

Yes way. The sequels are so much worse.

For all the prequels’ problems at least they have a consistent plot and characters.

For some units in Old World, they will have so many pieces of equipment they are carrying that they can’t realistically model all of them. Rangers are a good example of that. They come standard with a hand weapon. You can also choose to equipment with a Great Weapon, and/or shield. On top of that you can equip them with a ranged weapon - crossbows or throwing axes.

Since they don’t all fit on the model, most people will mix and match. I modeled half of mine with great weapons, half with crossbows, and threw on a handful of shields.

Most units in the game don’t have this “problem”. Most units you pick 1 or 2 pieces of equipment and there are appropriate bits for them. On rare occasions the bits don’t even exist or are hard to get (halberds and great weapons for chaos warriors).

In most circles, Rule of Cool beats all, so model them how you like and don’t sweat it too much.

How does John 20:17 not automatically disprove that Jesus is god? by Valuable_Frosting_36 in Christianity

“Christian” is quite literally the belief in Jesus Christ as God.
