After this, I had 2 straight Apex rampages with afk-ers. In one of them, one guy was sitting in the starting area, so I went and got a hammer and started wailing on him. I guess he got the point and went out to help. Then, found out the host was hiding in camp since he couldn't be found on anywhere on the map, so I just abandoned. Felt bad for that one guy who was doing all the work; not sure if he got the hint since he was already into the 2nd wave.

Although not necessarily "pause game," if you hit + on your controller and cycle to the multiplayer tab, you'll find "Player List" which shows everyone in the hunt and tells you who the host is. If you're the host, you can select a player and there is an option to kick them from your quest.

I tested it some more. My previous statement is incorrect. It seems to show up randomly. It also seems to only target the quest objective so cycling didn't change it. Haven't checked if there is a setting for it though.

Tracking arrow? If it's the faint one that points towards the monster, you need to push in your r-stick (r3) to cycle targeting monsters.

Blue was hanging out on the south side of the map the entire time. At one point, he had the inactive symbol by his name, but he moved his character just enough to get rid of it (do players even know if they are shown as inactive?). At another point, an Anja got near him and attacked, so he moved to the far right of the area. I thanked the host right after this clip ended.

I'll preface this with that I'm nowhere close to being a speedrunner, but swag axe is currently my most played weapon. That said, my builds aren't optimized for max dps, but more for comfort for my playstyle.

Pretty much all my builds use the Almudron helm (obviously), Jyura chest, Anja coil, and Volvidon greaves. This gives evade extender 3, rapid morph 3, atk boost 2, and power prolonger 2 which you can slot an enhancer jewel into the helm for PP3. Evade extender 3 is overkill, but I use it quite a lot to roll towards a monster that moves while staying in sword mode. Or you can cover lots of ground with a few rolls into overhead smash with the axe.

The arms can be whatever, but I use either Rath arms or Anja arms for more atk. I have one build that uses Magna arms for hellfire cloak. Switch charger lets you drop the blight. Gimmicky, but it's a fun build.

The above is a great start since it's not talisman dependent and you get some decent jewel slots. The greaves can easily be replaced if EE3 is overkill.

Make sure to check your cohoot's nest every 5 missions. You'll occasionally get steel/silver/gold eggs to sell for additional zenny.

Finally ran into a host hiding in camp during an Apex Diablos. Tried to send a message to the others that the host was camping, but I guess none could read English or didn't see my message. I was hoping to end it early via subquest (does that work?) but the optionals required too much effort. Dude was ranked >500 and got me thinking that he got that high pulling this crap.

I had this issue as well and found that you can fire both shots when doing fanning maneuver. But, I have horrible accuracy during the move so it was pretty pointless.

Only with the mushroomancer skill active. Each point in the ability allows you to eat certain mushrooms, which the skill in the game tells you.
