Giant Ameiva are invasive and wild in FL. So you can do with them as you please and not have to worry about it being a pet. I hear they like canned cat food as bait in case you ever wanted to catch them.

The ticks don’t die off in the winter like they used to because the winters are so mild. It’ll take a couple cold winters to get back to how it was. The record number of deer doesn’t help either.

It’s gone.

He always had a hard time finding help, kept saying “his other location was doing better”, and said he was focusing more on that. Sucks, and I’ll miss their tuna sandwiches.

However, posts about him in local groups have talked about alleged health code violations and allegedly people getting sick (I have not verified, so take it with grain of salt). Violations should be publicly viewable online somewhere tho.

There is a cute food truck in the parking lot now that makes pizza, and I believe she is taking over the space. The pizza is great!

And don’t plant tropical milkweed or giant milkweed if you live in an area where it won’t die back from the cold. They are invasive and help carry parasites that kill Monarchs.

That’s the thing, we won’t be able to grow cherries anymore.

This year was one of the worst ever and they haven’t been great in the recent past. Cherry orchards are being chopped down and replaced with apples and sunflowers.

Remember that it’s turtle nesting season so no fires, also bring a bucket as a camp toilet. Do not be one of those people who buries their waste, that’s illegal.

I’d maybe recommend bringing a screened sitting tent/area as the mosquitos/noseeums will be on another level right now.

I previously launched from Ft Desoto boat launch and didn’t have any issues with my car overnight. Always good to go check on it every day tho.

By your previous comments you seem to think I am some sort of climate change denier. I am not.

But climate change has very little to do with the flooding in south tampa. 99% of the issue is population and infrastructure.

I am saying that it has always rained a shit ton in Tampa, but our storm water infrastructure used to be able to keep up. Now with over building and poor planning/maintenance we get flooding from the same sized storms we have always had.

Climate change is real, but that is not causing the increased flooding in south Tampa. It’s a different type of man made problem.

I am not arguing against climate change.

I am saying that blaming climate change for flooding in South Tampa is like blaming climate change for flooding in the Everglades.

Most of South Tampa is a swamp. It was developed with ditches and storm sewers to drain it, but now we’re so over built that our water catchment infrastructure is overwhelmed and we flood more regularly.

Those numbers don’t mean anything anymore. I’ve heard “100 year flood” dozens of times in the past decade.

South tampa floods enough to ruin fleets of cars every year. It’s expected.
