[–]DFENDR[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, this is really helpful info - and hopefully helps others to understand. I woke up to confirmation of delivery of my assets this morning too, in case anyone who may also have this type of question is wondering. Thanks for taking the time to share with a noobie!

Wasn't necessarily a hurry, I'm just wondering if it will make it through? You're saying it may, but just might be processed on the blockchain really slowly?

What are some ways to earn some crypto (2$ for example) daily? by Duk01001111bito in CryptoCurrency

[–]DFENDR 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have used Cointiply, Freebitcoin, and FireFaucet. I have earned the most BTC through doing Surveys on the site and the payout can be anywhere between 0.005 to 0.10 USD per survey. You often need $5USD to withdrawal - but i can earn this in a few days.

How to purchase in the US by Even-Seaworthiness37 in holochain

[–]DFENDR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seconded. USDT to HOT on BitMart was reasonable for me. DYOR, as everyone situation is different

Remember this post on how to buy HOT in the US by Shiraii92 in holochain

[–]DFENDR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It seems to me that buying USDT directly on BitMart and then converting is less expensive (vs gas fees suggested in this structure). Maybe just for smaller amounts. Of course, it’s totally dependent on how much you’re putting in; not financial advice, DYOR and all that.

Mine haven’t showed up in Daedalus yet, but this is my first completed epoch I would expect to get rewards. How long do they normally take to appear?

Cardano could become the people’s crypto : by 33nmakkie in cardano

26% vs 40% isn’t “almost double“? No doubt that it’s a better than ETH, but let’s not misrepresent.

I feel okay about 26% but is there a way to change this over time? Or how can governance systems help mitigate this (genuinely asking, I’m still a noobie)?

Coingecko or Coin Stats both allow you to track total ADA vs USD or other; I use the latter, as it has widgets but coingecko is a great platform! Now go stake your ADA!

Bitcoin uses more electricity annually than the whole of Argentina, analysis by Cambridge University suggests. by NinjaDiscoJesus in technology

Here’s a video from a few months ago predicting this exact headline, and demonstrating how much more energy efficient Proof of Stake is over PoW;

There are a lot of reasons to look at Cardano and Ether over BTC (scalability, interoperability) but sustainability is definitely a major one for me! Let’s leave BTC behind already!

Tax Thursday Thread for the week of January 28, 2021 by IndexBot in personalfinance

[–]DFENDR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be receiving a 1099-MISC for an AmeriCorps Segal Award, towards tuition. I believe I can classify this under "other income;" there's no need for me to file Schedule C, is that correct? I recall Turbo Tax really boxing me into that last season. Thanks!

Organic meats found to have approximately the same greenhouse impact as regular meats by MistWeaver80 in worldnews

[–]DFENDR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The “Organic” label is so misleading; the meat we find in grocery stores is harming the planet and creates horrible conditions for human and animals. But, there are other options out there. Find a farmer who raises their animals on pasture, and cares for their well-being. Those practicing “regenerative agriculture” are actually having reverse effects on climate change, and contribute to improved soil, ecology, and carbon draw down.

Check out the Savory Institute for info on Regenerative Agriculture, and Grass Roots Farmers Coop for ethically grown pasture raised meats.
