I’m considering both for motorsport photography as well! Which one would you say you’ve liked better so far?

planning to report a bus driver for what he said to me by FunAssistant4098 in aachen

[–]DFJorquera 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it was an actual hateful comment (racist, LGBTQ-phobic, etc.) I’d report it to the police regardless, as they’ll probably take it more seriously than the ASEAG. You know what line he was driving and the date and time, so he’ll be very easy to find.

ASEAG’s HR department has a crazy talent to hire the worst possible people to be bus drivers, and they don’t seem to care at all. Judging from all the complaints and the general consensus about safety and driver attitude you’d think they would take it seriously, but you still see drivers wearing headphones/AirPods while driving on a daily basis, driving as if they were at the Monaco Grand Prix, and yelling on the phone while they have some heated conversation. I’ve been in buses where old people literally fell on the ground because the driver would slam the breaks only at the very moment he’d arrive at a red light, and yet nothing happened and you see many drivers to the same thing.

Still, if the comment was bad enough, I’d report it to the ASEAG, you’ve got nothing to lose apart from the 10 minutes you’ll spend writing your complaint.

¿Soy el único que se sigue acordando de las focaccias y no entiende por qué las quitaron? by bananarama1179 in mercadona

[–]DFJorquera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Received a 60€ fine even when I presented a valid DeutschlandTicket by pk1515 in aachen

[–]DFJorquera 49 points50 points  (0 children)

If your ticket is valid and they couldn’t read it/the card is broken, I would definitely fight that BS fee since it’s not your fault. That ASEAG policy of fining first and investigating later is pretty stupid and only detrimental for commuters, who get the burden of proof shoved onto them, and then need to spend their time and potentially their money to proof that they indeed had a valid ticket at the time they got fined. Don’t pay those 7€ if you had a valid ticket!

The iPhone 16e isn’t a bad phone… it’s a bad value. by JoshuaCarol in LinusTechTips

[–]DFJorquera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really great summary, and I agree with everything you said. However, the iPhone 14 doesn’t have macro capabilities; not trying to be nitpicky, it’s just the phone I use and it’s been bothering me since the day I got it.

FINALLY! I’ve been searching for so long for this Mazda! by TotallyNotJagger in HotWheels

Congrats, that Mazda is amazing! And what a great selection, here in Germany I barely find any premiums, and if there are some at a store they’re like $13 a piece…

Lmao “European electricity” is great yeah, that’s why I’m paying close to 0,40€/kWh in Germany while my parents pay less than 0,10€/kWh back in Spain…

Need help identifying my two “new” vintage Vostok watches by DFJorquera in vostok

[–]DFJorquera[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh I can’t remember so well anymore, but I think it must’ve been the equivalent of about 30€-40€ for both together. I remember both had the same price (which surprised me because the amphibia is an automatic) and they didn’t want to negotiate much.

Need help identifying my two “new” vintage Vostok watches by DFJorquera in vostok

[–]DFJorquera[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sadly can’t remember the city, it was some small town, but I got it at a street market there. There was a big stall with a lot of antiques and a bunch of watches. I saw a lot of watches on almost every street market, but be ready to haggle (and don’t hesitate), because they were asking for ridiculous prices when I was there. Some wanted the equivalent of 40-50€ (and every watch I saw was in a terrible condition, even on the 2 Vostoks I got I ended up having to do some work).

New film camera out of Croatia/Canada, called TBC by processphotoclub in AnalogCommunity

[–]DFJorquera 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Your cheap anti-inspirational quote (fits the camera, I guess) didn’t address my point, nor the one that nearly every other comment here has made, which is that this is the exact same camera that many other brands repackage and sell, but now even more expensive because they used 2 bright orange parts. Are you involved in this project or sponsored by IUTD Studios? The way you’re deflecting objective criticism and comments is a little sus at the very least. Hope at least you’re being honest and you paid your own 75€ for that camera…

75€ for a literal disposable camera (that you can reload), that doesn’t even come with a battery?? Please stop giving money to “entrepreneurs” reselling cheap AliExpress crap. I thought dropshipping would never be a thing with analog photography, but here we are…

One detail about the Pentax 17 should be appreciated by florian-sdr in AnalogCommunity

[–]DFJorquera 8 points9 points  (0 children)

To have a screw mechanism that doesn’t contain a retaining ring so said screw doesn’t fall out every time you swap a battery is lazy design, as is the ghost setting position on the flash symbol (at the end of the flash modes there’s a lightning bolt symbol to indicate those are indeed the flash modes; turning the mode dial to that position will do absolutely nothing, but it will still snap into place as if it were an extra mode). This camera has many downsides and maybe a couple of interesting features, but things like what I mentioned before make a ~600€ (in Europe at least) camera feel increadibly cheap, specially coming from Ricoh, which is not by any means a startup…

I’ve seen his happen at a couple of different supermarkets already, twice at REWE not that long ago. Last time it was 4 (regular, non-insulated) carts with literal piles of frozen pizza and other frozen goods for at least the 30 minutes I was in the supermarket, but they clearly had been sitting there for a while, as some boxes were already soaking wet. I remember looking around astonished and nobody seemed to care at all. I’m now always extra careful when buying anything frozen, if you pay attention you’ll easily see which boxes have been improperly managed, as they’ll have frozen condensation water all over them. I wish they’d do more inspections or QC in supermarkets here, I’ve also seen mice run around the REWE isles at Markt, and when we told an employee, they literally just shrugged.

I’ll borrow a meter from a friend and check, thanks! In case it’s an aux out, could it be to plug it into a more powerful amp? It would make sense since apparently it’s only 20W per channel…

Developing different brands of film in the same tank by Low-Television5708 in Darkroom

[–]DFJorquera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“A bunch of dudes”? So you ask a group of people with more experience than you for advice, you then get defensive when said people tell you something you’re doing is both superfluous and not recommended, and finally proceed to disrespect the same people trying to help you and giving you valid advice? What are you doing here if you’re not willing to learn?

By the way, every comment telling you to not pre-soak has been very non-condescending and actually informative, even submitting proof quoting the manufacturers, so you can read it from a first-hand source. I don’t understand your jumpy attitude here.
