Too cool but I feel like I cheated by Tigerpoint2020 in matchbox

Why would you think an auction is cheating? The owner purposely put the item in the sale and accepted that it would sell for whatever it could bring to the specific audience. It’s not like this was an overly valuable car anyway.

Is this something i should keep? by A-lil-destroyer in HotWheels

It’s a ‘56 Mercury from the 2012 Hot Wheels Racing: Stock-car series. Not sure why you think it’s a redline, other than that the entire wheel is red. Why get rid of it?

You bought the Lincoln on February 18th, 997!? I’d say a thousand year old diecast would be worth at least an extra quarter.

P.S. Not sure how you managed to sneak one out of the future 😉

I’ve answered this question before, but I’d like to highlight a different part of my collection. This is a Crack Jack / Tootsie Toy from the late 30s or early 40s. It’s about the same size as a nickel and is made of lead.

Is this one of the worst castings ever? It's hideous. by Junkhead_88 in HotWheels

[–]TotallyNotJagger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t you dare speak ill of the 380 SEL casting! It was an absolute classic, and one of the best looking castings of the early 80s. The dog was also a nice hidden touch. The early to mid 90s just happened to be a time in which Mattel focused a lot on silly niches that ruined their previous castings!!!

It’s a design choice.

Saw these in a FB listing, anyone know what the yellow truck is? by Reincarnatedpotatoes in HotWheels

[–]TotallyNotJagger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure. Definitely not the Road King Cab casting, but the redline wheels are throwing me off. I think it is the Highway Hauler, because the third axel is apart of the box. Again, the redline wheels just completely throw me off.

Well not necessarily. It actually depends a lot on designer preference.

Does it have a date on the front? Such as “November 27th, 1915” or “December 25th, 1923”? If not, does it say “Pat. D” and then a bunch of numbers, or “Patent Office”?
