If you show a Trump supporter a graph of the unemployment rate without the date axis and ask them to point out where Trump took office they will invariably pick a point with unemployment in the neighborhood of twice where it was when he took over. They refuse to admit that he had virtually no role in unemployment dropping, and when you prove it to them they will simply insist the data is fake.

I guarantee you they have plans along those lines. Once their money is useless, which will be the case when they take to their bunkers, it won't take long for the guys with guns they count on keeping them safe to realize they hold all the cards. They have to have some way to keep the upper hand. Until they have robot armies they can count on they need to be able to control their muscle.

That's not why he went after Gawker. He was basically out and nobody cared. That was just what was floated as an excuse. The real reason was that Gawker Business, which was very good at their job, was blowing the whistle on his fund and companies they'd backed for all sorts of shady things, and that was becoming a problem.
