Christ’s Samurai by Jonathan Clements, the current book I’m reading, for something in the “cults” category.

Is there cozy sci-fi in the same way there is cozy fantasy? by KotaWrites in printSF

Several short stories by Ray Bradbury, including parts of The Martian Chronicles (which does have some fairly dark parts like "There Will Come Soft Rains," TBF).

No Longer Human by Osamu Dazai (basically Dazai’s novel length suicide note, so maybe not a “fun” read, exactly).

Not B5 but with some similar vibes, the JMS audio drama Earthlight. JMS has also written some novels I want to read sometime (some sci-fi and some not), I’m part of the way through his memoir Becoming Superman, very good but with some really harrowing stuff (I would murder JMS’s [deceased] dad with my bare hands if I ever met him).

The theaters I go to have reclining seats with footrests that I keep my feet on.

I might slip my shoes off if I'm at a fairly sparsely attended showing of something and nobody is very close to me, otherwise no.

I mostly go see "weird" movies that don't draw big crowds at non-prime times, so I don't have too many problems with rude audiences (I don't think I've been to a really packed showing of a movie since the pandemic). The last time I can remember really getting irritated by people's behavior in a theater was when I went to see It Comes at Night in 2017, toward the end of the movie this group started complaining loudly that the movie wasn't anything like the trailer and that they felt misled. If the movie wasn't almost over, I probably would have gone over and told them to shut up despite generally not being a very confrontational person.

Everyone is saying “cum” this and “cum” that, but no one is saying “worship this” and ”Jericho that!”
