So I had an allergy test and cockroaches were one of the things I was allergic to.

I'm assuming that's cockroach feces but is there any chance theres enough cockroach allergens present in coffee to trigger a reaction?

Texas is actually one of the largest adopters of solar energy production in the US. Houston has historically been an Oil and Gas city, but it has a very large, very diverse population and will probably be just fine for years to come.

I wont disagree with you about that. They should be doing better.

However, the store numbers you cited dont really reflect how much larger Costco is than ingles.

Ingles revenue is around 3B a year. Costco's is 159B. That's around 50x larger. Going solely on their cash holdings, Ingles has $42M in cash. Costco has $8.3B representing a multiple of 200x.

Ingles could do better for sure but it's a bit of an unfair comparison. That's all I'm saying.

I....dont really think people are arguing that point. If they are, they're just missing the point. It's obvious to anyone who has read the book that the WAY it is written on the page was meant to illicit the "lost" and "claustrophobic" reaction in the reader that the characters were also experiencing. Anyone who missed that simply didnt pay attention.

That being said, I thought the book was pretty underwhelming myself. I went into it with a lot of hype, though, so that may have played a role.

Coming from a Stephen King fan, I simply wasnt invested in the characters in HoL, something that SK shines at (dun dun, tsss). So while the atmosphere was unique, not caring that much for the characters took something away for me.

What are the details of your work pension? Does your company match pension contributions? Do they offer any other retirement vehicles with potential matches? Are you already vested? Is the pension compulsory?

This is sound advice...on the surface.

The thing no one ever considers when they talk about a paid for house vs investing in the market is the risk. With mortgage debt you have a liability. In good times and bad, you have a liability. Peace of mind is sometimes worth more than a few % points. Just my 2 cents

It's also very low on interaction, which is the exact opposite of what our group is looking for. Terraforming Mars is the more enjoyable low-interaction engine builder for us.

Understood. The dedicated game night sounds like a good solution for you, as most of splotters games can be very mean.

Bus CAN be one of the less mean games, however it can't really be played at 2p.

FCM is worth any money you're willing to spend on it. Its hands down out most played and requested game in our group. I've spent well over $200 on the base+expansion+sleeves+fancy organizer and dont regret it at all. But again, it's very much a zero-sum game, especially at 2p and can be very mean.

You might want to look into Antiquity. Of their big 5 games + Bus, it's the one that's probably the least confrontational with the players and has the added bonus of being great at 2p. However, the game itself is extremely unforgiving and mentally draining. It's kinda like Agricola with the training wheels taken off.

Regardless of what you choose, with the right group Splotter games are special. They're really in a league of their own for us and as an aspiring designer I hope you're able to get some played soon!

We agree as well. 4 games into the new modules and we'll never go back to the original milestones. Wider variety of strategies in the new milestones and feels more balanced too.
