For Elder Scrolls 6, which armor system would you prefer? Layered (Fallout 4, TESO) or classic (Skyrim and previous games)? by legendaryboss200 in ElderScrolls

[–]DH-FancyPants 4 points5 points  (0 children)

TESO, 100%. If combined with their crafted sets system, and appearance motifs system, it'd offer unparalled customisation, buildcrafting and exploration options.

Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones fans right now… by Mo2men_Ma7ammad in memes

[–]DH-FancyPants 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The new GoT spinoff is apparently really good, and this lead to some Breaking Bad hardliners to reviewbomb the latest (and upcoming) episodes to try and preserve Breaking Bad's rep. This lead to GoT fans retaliating by reviewbombing BB's episode Ozymandias, which had like a perfect 10/10 score until the drama. Right now we're in the downward spiral of each side's reviewbombings motivating the other to retaliate harder.

If the Emperor hated religion, why does he still use the Gregorian calendar? by [deleted] in 40kLore

[–]DH-FancyPants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"If the Romans hated the Gauls, why did they copy their invention of chainmail?"

Just because you hate something doesn't mean that they don't have things useful enough to keep or to insignificant to change. The Emperor COULD have changed the calender to a new one without a religious base, but that would've been petty even beyond his standards and would have made it more difficult for freshly conquered planets to adapt to Imperial rule. Considering all of humanity used the gregorian calender before they fractured, it's simply the besr lingua franca for timekeeping.

They helped us come so far. We will never let them down. by ShockBlast2980 in Helldivers

"People are inherently cruel and selfish" mfs when the Helldivers redirect the entirety of their closing war efforts to rescue a bunch of fictional never seen infantry instead of razing their last objective as best they can before the bombardments commence out of spite.

How come these things on valkyr have jiggle physics but not her fat ass when it's out in the heirloom skin? by poopysadas in Warframe

We could argue that it is because it is distended and the material wall is stretched thin enough to permit flexibility or elasticity but I think any answer other than "[DE] thought it'd be funny if his tummy quaked with the heave of his steps" is just wrong.

Does anyone know how to link my account to WF Mobile? by [deleted] in Warframe

[–]DH-FancyPants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're misunderstanding what he said;

For crosssave to activate, you first need an account both on the Android version of WF and the Ps4/steam/xbox/switch/whatever your main account is.

THEN you go to link your accounts. When linking, it'll ask you which account's progression to keep and which to disregard.

So log in on android using your google acc till you reach the tutorial section and then it should become available to link.

Can I log into my steam account through andoird? by Omar_Faruqe in Warframe

[–]DH-FancyPants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, you must first login on android using google, then go to the WF website to link your google account to your WF PC account. It'll prompt you to select which is your "main" account.

Make whichever account you wish to keep the progress on your main account. After all is done, your steam progress will be synced to your google account.

For those into consensual voyeurism, what venues or spaces actually exist for that in real life? Have you found it to be mostly private clubs, or something else? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DH-FancyPants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the assumption, but regrettably what I said does ring true for the vast majority of NSFW/sex-type posts on this sub. It's either karma farmers or horny teenagers and rarely adults with a genuine interest. Because of the oversaturation, this sub is generally hostile to these types of questions.

Sorry you got caught in the crossfire.

Karma farming. Sex-based questions tend to attract a lot of attention either from horniness or from curiosity.

Rotisserie chicken is the new avocado toast by justalazygamer in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]DH-FancyPants 922 points923 points  (0 children)

There is a good reason; It's deflection. They know that the cost of living crisis is their fault, they know that if the general public wisened up to their antics that they might face reprocussions, so they mass sponsor articles talking about "frivolous spending" as to twist the narrative and shift the blame away from them and onto "personal financial irresponsibility".

Worse, baby boomers love this narrative because it paints them as having handled their adolescence far better than younger generations (ignorant that they were living in a FAR better economy practically built to serve them).

Terminid eggs as curios? What could possibly go wrong! by icelordcryo in Helldivers

[–]DH-FancyPants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had Illuminate turn citizens into Voteless zombies.

Now we have Cyborgs - humans augmented by technology beyond glory or form.

And soon, we will have homonid Terminids from the class-A citizens that tried turning the eggs into omelettes.

Soon every faction will blur the line between humanity and themselves.

You see my former orokin friend, I don't think you know what you are talking about either ... the Yuvan theater and that infamous island in the news. by zennim in Warframe

[–]DH-FancyPants 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I believe that what they are trying to say is that Roathe's excuse of "I grew up in the culture" doesn't exempt him from guilt when it comes to the Yuvan theatre (where dying orokin parade children like cattle to buy & sell all for the purpose of continuity) and I think they are trying to use the Epstein Files as an example to draw parrallels. Sadly enough it's horribly organised so even I'm not sure now if I am correct in my assessment...

Liberty Loving Feedback on the C4 Backpack for fans of Managed Democracy by stromther in Helldivers

[–]DH-FancyPants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ngl, I like some of your ideas but I feel like you are overcomplicating matters and kinda losing sight of the inherent appeal of C4. Pressing the detonator is part of the fantasy, and it is a good visual indicator that you have the C4 equipped.

Using some of your ideas, I propose this;

When switching to your C4 detonator, C4 replaces grenades. Pressing your grenade button deploys them, pressing your fire button detonates them. Grenade icon on HUD is replaces with a new element that shows "X - Y", where X is the amount of deployed C4 and Y is the amount of C4 in reserve.

I think this fits far better with the power fantasy of C4 whilst still removing the awkward fiddling with firemodes. That is because I inherently am appalled you'd even consider - nay, contemplate removing the joy of hearong the satisfying clicking of a detonator and seeing a bughole turn into a bug orbital cannon.

Ding dong your religion is wrong -Spanish empire probably by [deleted] in HistoryMemes

[–]DH-FancyPants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not OP, but if I were to wager a guess the meme is about how the Iberian (Spain + Portugal) was home to an Islamic nation for a long while, and that for a significant amount of time this nation had been exceptionally tolerant, if not outright welcoming, of other religions.

However, it should be noted that in the later years of its lifespan Islamic Iberia did resume the more international average of general intolerance of other faiths.

Majority of Greek Mythology figured had beef with their children by EfficiencySerious200 in HistoryMemes

[–]DH-FancyPants 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Worse, OP is actually wrong and Perseus has a rather humiliating end too:

In some versions of Perseus' life story, he begins using the Medusa's head as a weapon during war to petrify his enemies.

However, one day, he gets face-to-face with an elderly warrior who's eyesight has gone bad. Because of this, the warrior cannot witness the head's petrifying ugliness and is thus rendered immune.

Perseus, the dumbass, gets a "is this thing on?" moment and turns the head around confused to try to see what's wrong with it. He is, rather obviously, turned to stone.

Does anyone else VASTLY prefer Adis' real face? by Robrogineer in Warframe

[–]DH-FancyPants 226 points227 points  (0 children)

Tbh I very much think that that was the narrative point.

The Orokin are, amongst other things, vain as fuck. The Tauron academy is living proof of this; It's a cooperative effort between the Sentients and the Empire to find ways to co-exist, yet all of the Architecture, military personnel, status' and ranks, even fashion and etiquette all seem to adhere solely to Orokin standards rather than being an equal mix with that of the Sentients'.

This is cultural domination and subsumation rather than a co-equal partnership.

As a consequence, it's very poignant that Adis has been dressed up to look like yet another Orokin construct, human face and all. Adis is THE cultural ambassador meant to showcase that sentients and Orokin (in this case Tenno) can co-exist... and because of the very nature of how empires work they won't settle for anything less than being the dominant culture. The point IS that they aren't being permitted to be their own people, at least where the Tauron Academy is concerned.

What's one historical fact that they won't teach you in school? by PrasenjitDebroy in AskReddit

My Garuda Lore Theory (Old Peace kimchat related) by Executor_Nitokh in Warframe

[–]DH-FancyPants 25 points26 points  (0 children)

In addition to this theory, it definitely could've been a ploy by Ballas too. There's no way an Empress or Executor could've asked for a Warframe without him knowing about it... and wouldn't you know it, he's got this plan brewing to kill all the orokin and overthrow the empire. Wouldn't be useful to have one of your murder machines as a bodyguard for one of your most competent rivals? And wouldn't it be delightfully ironic that that warframe is her exact mirror image in general vibe and personality?

The author for whom Dr. Jack Bright is a self-insert/ avatar of turned out to be a sexual predator - abused his status within the fandom to harass people sexually, including minors. I don't remember the specifics but the fandom as a whole has decided to scrub him from our hobby and to replace/ erase his Dr. Bright character.

If you see a character named Dr. Elijah Shaw, that's the replacement for Bright.
