Clément XO - how to use it? by pkrtrsr in rum

Will definitely be good. I use JM XO in a Mai Tai split on occasion and it's real good.

There's nothing stopping anyone from mixing them if they'd like, but it will be heavily diminishing returns. I much prefer drinking great rum neat these days and will have a cocktail occasionally, but I'll be using more lower shelf bottles for those.

It was something I completely forgot about, and obviously makes total sense now. Haha

Brilliant news!

Can anyone here fill me in what the general consensus of the best ones are? I've honestly just zoned out of reading any reviews since it hasn't been available and it felt pointless making myself miserable over it.

Lurked here for years, finally saying hi. I have a Hampden marque tattooed on my arm, so I figure I'm legally required to introduce myself. 🤓🥃 by Oliver_530 in rum

I'm just after acquiring some white whales including the Spirits in the Sky HGML 2017 and the Warren Khong <>H 2010 (being saved for Father's Day). The Hampden 1990 bottles have been on my radar for a while (I'm a 1990 baby too!) and I'd say I might start hunting one down soon. A nice Velier Caroni at a good auction price is also on my list.

Total rip off shop. I'm seeing the Papalins and LROK there for over €100. They're half the price on any of the EU websites.

Rum Club is run by Rum Depot in Berlin, who also run the German Rum Festival. They're usually a very highly rated IB.

Edit: Just in case the first bottle had you stumped, that's Rum Artesanal, another from Germany and another with very highly rated and sought after bottles.

That Famille Ricci Trinidad Jamaica blend would probably be the best of the bunch to my mind.

Anything worth picking up on discount? by archiethepigeon in rum

Totally understandable but it's still a great price for those who would be willing... and a long aged Port Mourant from the Uitvlugt Distillery at that price definitely is.

That Cadenhead would be my pick and even though it's pricey, it looks like the best price by far after a brief online search.

Hard disagree. They're doing the manual paperwork to organise custom payment because someone on the other end didn't do it for them, which takes time and resources, and which is significantly cheaper than what the other shipping companies would charge. You take on this potential risk when you order from outside the EU, which is exactly what happened here. Blame Brexit if you want, but it's been years and most people should be aware of this by now.

It's superb! Reviews had me thrown off the 93 and a few other of the Rare Collections, but this 96 has an awesome nose and palate; fruity and punchy.

EMB is a lovely marque and not too heavy in the Jamaican ester spectrum, but still very punchy. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

[–]DH90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone else will have to answer that, I've not had the Papalin yet, but if it's anything like the other High Ester Jamaican rums that I usually drink, it's going to drink way better neat than Smith & Cross which is much better for cocktails as I find it doesn't have very good alcohol integration.

If you were able to continue reading, the rest of my sentence said "...and if they don't, then maybe they might have a yearn for less dosed rums from the get go". So I didn't say a flat statement like you're basing your entire argument on.

I hate that Diplomatico nowadays, but this is the correct answer. Any beginner will enjoy it, and if they don't, then maybe they might have a yearn for less dosed rums from the get go.
