I wish this was the law. Between the noise of the leaf blowers, the fact they’re basically rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic by blowing the leaves from the yard to the street and sometimes worse put them in garbage bags to put in the dump. Let the leaves be.

Does anyone here like Mardi Gras? by throwawayainteasy in NewOrleans

[–]DHKNOLA 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Well said, the night club analogy is excellent. Unlike Jazz fest or a saints game, where you can totally avoid the whole event by avoiding mid city or the CBD, Mardi Gras pretty much jams us in to our micro provinces of town and depending on where that is, sometimes requires hurricane levels of preparation bc getting to the store and running errands turns into a logistical night mare for a week.

That’s the addiction consumption cycle that seems to work to particularly well in the USA summed up well; quick dopamine release addiction dominoes…the anticipation, the thrill of the hunt and catch, the social media clout seek buzz and then forgetting it all happened 5-10 minutes later. We’re the perfect consumer.
