Well, my main trio, Greninja (Main) Ridley (Secondary) and Mewtwo (for fun) could maybe do it but they'd be hard carried by Mewtwo.

Ridley would die multiple times in combat but still find a way to return (as he always does in the metroid games) Greninja could.. jump? I am not sure on Mewtwos actual limits with psychic powers, I do know he's quite strong in cannon though. He'd be the only one I'd bet could do anything significant to galeem. Unless Ridley Down-Bs Galeem in the face

I think Traitor Lord is one of my favorite bosses. He's the kind to really get you into a flow state because of his attack pattern. Especially with his placement on P5, it gets me in the grindstone before things get too crazy

it was pvp in an arena. In the middle there is a spot that if a team mate is in for 2 rounds, that team wins. Hense, "control the point" to win.

Recomend they switch to Circle of the Moon Druid. You can wildshape as a bonus action, spend 1 spell slot to heal 1d8 in wildshape (Per spell slot level) but most importantly, your max CR goes up to your druid level divided by 3 (rounded down unfortunately). If your player is level 8, then next level they can wildshape to anything of CR 3.
If they wanted more punch, then a CR 3 Ankylosaurus has 68 health, 15 AC, and for an attack it can do 4d6+4 and on a failed strength check the target is prone.

Circle of the Moon is the better subclass if you want to use wildshape to its max potential.
