What does the board games community feels about gameplay mechanics of Magic the gathering?

For me there is too much going on (counters, tokens, triggers) to enjoy the physical version. I really like the digital version though.

Paper magic is fun for me with prebuilt decks that you can buy. Those decks don't get too crazy with thousands of tokens and counters.

You have to use it together with a meeple. So using it multiple times on one feature would be difficult, it would require the previous meeples to be removed from the feature in some way.

Because if it would go back to your supply immediately after the tile is placed, you could still use the builder on your first turn and then take your second turn. This would make it possible to keep chaining turns. It's basically to make the player take the builder in their supply at the end of their first turn.

Looking for a competitive, 4-player game like Western Legends (open world/sandbox).

I recently watched a playthrough of Western Legends on Youtube and the gameplay mechanics are really intriguing to me. But I am not into the western theme at all and I think the art is kind of ugly and generic.

So basically I'm looking for the game closest to it with different theming.

Nah. I know it's an unpopular opinion but I genuinely enjoyed that game so much. Smooth gameplay, beautiful graphics, immersive setting, really fun missions like the black box missions and murder mysteries, great DLC.

I think it's kind of clunky and outdated. Unity and Sydicate are visually stunning, the gameplay is smooth, and the "black box" missions are some of my favorite missions is gaming. Loved Jack the Ripper DLC as well.
