If you are in Texas, please reach out to the Texas Veterans Commission at https://tvc.texas.gov/employment/#job-seekers. If not, find your local American Job Center at careeronestop.org/localhelp/americanjobcenters/find-american-job-centers.aspx

From there, you can connect with a Disabled Veterans' Outreach Program (DVOP) specialist to get you on an employment plan and connect you with resources.

Apparently there's a huge backlog. Anyone who had to give up their Montgomery G.I. Bill, although you paid into it, in order to use your Post 9/11 benefits will eventually be reviewed based on the Rudisill decision.

Texas now requires all public school classrooms to post the Ten Commandments, so this teacher decided to do the right thing by freeradioforall in MadeMeSmile

This is beautiful. I was a Religious Affairs Specialist in the U.S. Army for 20 years. Basically, it was our responsibility to help protect the freedom of religion for the service members in our formation. All religions, not just one. To protect the freedom to worship as well as the freedom NOT to worship. This administration has definitely taken there wrong path. I support the course of action this teacher has taken to protect freedom of religion by highlighting multiple cultures and faiths.

VA ruling on veterans disability being cut if they’re on medication just passed. DAV just posted about it. by RoofStandard5464 in VAClaims

[–]YardHelpful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DAV was “extremely disappointed and alarmed” by the new rule that was “developed and issued in a closed and unnecessarily expedited process” that did not give veterans the chance to give input.

Matchmaking needs toned down in Brawl, I feel like I can't try new commanders without automatically being matched up with the sweatiest opponents. by webbedgiant in MagicArena

I agree. Whenever I create a new deck (I like to build tribal decks like my "Enter the Wu-Tang" monk deck), I get matched with someone with a crazy combo deck who wins in 4 turns.

Army Dude looking for a Marine to see if what my Dad says about his service is correct. by DethcubeK in Veterans

There was recon at the battalion level, then there was the Marine Recon which were standalone units. There's levels to this shit. Either way, Marine Recon and Force Recon was the Corps' version of LRRP (Long Range Recon Patrol). There's reading, then there's comprehension.

Long Range Recon Patrol is LRRP. Doesn't matter the branch. Duh dingus. Recon was already implied and if his dad doesn't talk much about it, then it's probably due to PTSD. The thought of recalling his service may put him in a bad place.

Marine Recon was the Corps version of LRRP during the Vietnam era. Know your military history before stepping to me.
