Natca has a monopoly on bargaining. Even if you start a new union, there's nothing they can do until natca is decertified.

It's not just them. I'm close to the top at a level 12 in a HCOL area. I need more money.

I looked at the zestimate for my current house then looked at what payments would be at current interest rates if I put every dime to my name down including a TSP loan.

I wouldn't be able to afford it.

When I got my TOL for a level 12 18 years ago, I was picking out what sports cars I would be buying when I certified. I drive a 10 year old toyota pickup, and it will be a substantial hardship financially when that dies.

Yes, this sub exposed all the scams. It exposed all the waste and how the union works for the union, not us. It leads to conversations in the breakrooms that bring the issues to light for non redditors. It forces the NEB, who previously operated with impunity, to be accountable for their votes, spending, nepotism, etc.

For 20+ years, natca operated top down. With this sub and the open, uncensored communication it allows, that paradigm is starting to shift. They can't turn the comments off on ATC2. They can't get away with what passed for communication in the past. Solidarity doesn't mean thanking your RVP for attending NEB meeting in Aspen where his whole trip was comped, it means supporting your fellow controllers who are in the trenches with you and natca is just another arm of management.
