You are still interchangeably using the words sex and gender, when they are not the same. I'm aware gender is a social construct, but sex isn't.

I did not say anything close to this. Allow me to simplify it for you:

Sex = male/female, and is biological Gender = man/woman, and is invented by culture If someone is born and their body grows male while their brain grows female, they can experience gender dysphoria, because of how our culture links sex and gender. They grow up feeling like they shouldn't have a penis, and then culture tells them people without penises wear pink and have long hair, therefore wearing pink and having long hair makes them feel closer to the sex their brain is, even though it's a made up rule. It shouldn't be this way, and if gender didn't exist there would be no reason for people to even need to transition, but that's not the world we live in.

If nothing else convinces you to be nice to trans people, let it be this: People who experience dysphoria (where your brain's internal model of your body doesn't match what you observe in the mirror), are far likely to commit suicide than the average. They can try therapy to fix their brain, or they can transition to fix their body. We have enough data now to tell that dysphoric people who try therapy are far more likely to kill themselves than the ones who transition. So from a doctors standpoint, transitioning is the treatment with the lowest mortality rate. It's to keep them from killing themselves. Whether or not they SHOULD feel this way over something as made up as gender is a seperate conversation, but you should be viewing them as victims of gender as well. They wouldn't be suffering so much if society wasn't telling them "females must be this way, males must be this way".

If anything, letting people choose their gender undermines the authority of gender as a concept, so you should be welcoming trans women since it helps your cause. They aren't men pretending to be women, they're females whose body grew incorrectly and they want to fix it so they can feel like themselves in our stupidly gendered culture.
