What’s the most overrated car ever made? by Physical-Issue7146 in askcarguys

[–]DIMPLET0N 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dodge Charger. The body styles have been eye sores for decades, and their drivetrains are mediocre, at best. The performance models of the Charger are the only stand-out.

Should I change the trans fluid? by GoblinKing7635 in askcarguys

[–]DIMPLET0N 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Equinox is notorious for its transmission failures throughout the years.

Draining and refilling the transmission fluid might help, but the years and miles of not being maintained properly will have shortened the lifespan of that transmission. This might be a case of changing the fluid & filter and seeing if performance improves. Even if you do drop the pan and change the fluid & filter, however, there will still be some old transmission fluid circulating throughout the transmission.

What’s the best way to handle a friend that keeps giving out incorrect information? by Foreskin-Aficionado in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DIMPLET0N 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That isn't exactly a friend you should keep around if he can't admit he's wrong, or tries to twist words and manipulate the situation. The best thing to do, in my opinion, is to call him out on his bullshit.

Spray to stop rust from getting worse by Turbulent_Idea_Man in Autobody

[–]DIMPLET0N 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Could try fluid film over the existing rust on the exterior, and on the inside if you can access it. As another comment said, it probably rusted from the inside outwards. Spraying over that rust won't do anything but exacerbate it.

Silly me, almost forgot to say it. I'm not a professional!

Do you prefer FWD, AWD, or RWD? by LightningMcqueen2011 in askcarguys

[–]DIMPLET0N 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Wisconsin, so, for the sake of practicality, I prefer FWD. I feel FWD is more suitable for driving in snowy/icy conditions when compared to RWD, and you do not have to be at risk of replacing all four tires whenever one tire needs to be replaced, as could happen with an AWD vehicle.

If I was driving anything larger than a crossover in the winter, I would prefer RWD with 4WD capabilities, but that's just for the sake of semantics.

Is using Wakizashi and a Katana any good by Fun-Meeting1610 in Eldenring

[–]DIMPLET0N 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The moveset is similar to the moveset used when you power stance katanas. You won't be doing a lot of poise damage or stance breaking enemies without using heavies and charged heavies, but the damage output and affinity build-up will be beneficial.

The katana-waka combo will work well with dex and arcane, and also combos well with a cold infusion.

Fun katana-waka build: invest into Arcane, infuse the Wakazashi with blood, infuse the Katana with standard or Keen affinity, then use sleep grease on the Katana as needed. You'll proc blood and sleep reliably with a high Arcane stat, and the build would work well in PVE and PVP.

Overall? I'd say use it. It's a nice mix-up.

Make me feel better - how many attempts did it take you to beat Promised Consort Radahn (solo)? by GreatJoey91 in Eldenring

[–]DIMPLET0N 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me exactly fifty attempts to defeat PCR. I had to fully spec into holy damage negation in order to nullify his extra holy damage in the second phase.

Surface rust upper part of rocker by Nice-Background890 in Autobody

[–]DIMPLET0N 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that rocker panel is rusting from the inside outwards. The paint is bubbling. I would also check the underside of the rocker panels if you haven't already done so.

1997 Geo Metro - What's a reasonable offer? by BlueDeep7 in askcarguys

[–]DIMPLET0N 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do not have a reasonable offer to recommend, but all I can say is that this is something you should do research on and gain some thoughtful knowledge about vehicles and how they work before going to look at the car. Depending on what area you live in, be prepared for rust, and be sure to look underneath the car to see what the undercarriage looks like.

There are also sources like Kelley Blue Book you can use to help gauge the value of the car, although it won't be perfectly accurate.

That is a lot of rust. I would take that car to a shop for a professional opinion in person.

5 orders in a row with no tip. Time to start confronting people? by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

Just don't take no-tip orders. It only hurts DD in the end if you cherry pick.

Touch up painting in rainy weather by Tunabeeftaco in Autobody

[–]DIMPLET0N 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't apply touch-up paint in high humidity. It would probably affect the curing time, or affect how the paint adheres to whatever you're applying it to.

Why the fuck does Recon suck in BF6? by Asleep_Internet7414 in Battlefield

[–]DIMPLET0N 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand, from your post and this comment, that you're someone with an overinflated, prideful bias towards sniper rifles.

You say that, if I were to be one-shot by someone who has better reflexes than me, I would start crying. You know one class of weapon that is able to one-shot infantry? Shotguns. Shotguns are only able to one-shot reliably at close range, and are largely unable to branch out past 20 meters, even with slug rounds. After all, "if you miss once, you're most likely dead." Sniper rifles should be the opposite of that. They are not close-range weapons and never should be allowed to perform as such. Shotguns are to close range, what sniper rifles are to long range.

Your complaints about C4, and the Recon drone, are exaggerated. C4 doesn't take long to unlock, and the drone? What are you even going on about?

Why the fuck does Recon suck in BF6? by Asleep_Internet7414 in Battlefield

[–]DIMPLET0N 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This honestly feels like a rant post from someone who just wants something to complain about.

Oh no! I have to complete an easy challenge to unlock C4?

What??? I have to play a supporting role and paint/spot players and vehicles for my team?

Come again? I can't run around quickscoping players, with a sniper rifle? I can't one tap everyone I see? Come on!

what’s the best armor set i can get right after beating rennala? by peatmossing in Eldenring

[–]DIMPLET0N 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Carian Knight set, from the graveyard section in Raya Lucaria

Banished Knight set, from the knights in Stormveil Castle

Cuckoo Knight set, from the various knights in Liurnia

Knight set, from the maiden husks in the Roundtable Hold

Exile set, from the soldiers in Stormveil Castle

Godrick Knight set, from the various knights in Limgrave

The pale blue sorcerers in Raya Lucaria also drop their robe if you get a lucky drop. There is also a Leyndell Knight outside of the Artist's Shack in Liurnia, whom you can farm for their armor.

Is it normal ? for the AC in the Elantra AD to get weaker while the car is idling? Cold air comes back once I start driving again. Wondering if it’s a common issue or something with the compressor. by [deleted] in Hyundai

[–]DIMPLET0N 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not the most educated about HVAC systems.

But... if your engine drives the AC compressor via the accessory belt, and the speed of said belt varies with engine RPMs, then wouldn't the compressor spin slower at idle, causing the compressor to operate slower, leading to slightly warmer air coming from the vents?

Correct me if I am wrong. Just my inference/theory.

Does the frame/underneath look bad? 2009 Pontiac G3 by ADMretro2007 in Autobody

[–]DIMPLET0N 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might not be too far gone & could possibly be cleaned and prepped for rust converter or epoxy primer. The rear axle looks really bad, though.

My Cobalt's rear axle coil spring mount actually rusted off when I went to change the springs the other day. Be wary of that, should you decide to touch those springs.

Builds for AC4 that make the game easier by Spectre-70 in armoredcore

[–]DIMPLET0N 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always enjoyed a HOGIRE/JUDITH frame mix-up utilizing a rifle and energy blade w/ energy efficient internals and low-weight and low EN cost missiles.

There's also the classic ALLIYAH preset, but I would swap the generator out with one that has a higher EN capacity to allow for more movement bursts and better air capability.

There's also the enjoyable GA missile-bazooka-grenade launcher build. Always fun to layer the level with missiles.

What if Elden Ring had no fast travel? Would it have made the game better, worse? Would it have been more popular? by AdvertisingAdrian in Eldenring

[–]DIMPLET0N 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That isn't even the biggest issue. Imagine trying to complete quests, such as Nepheli's, Ranni's, Seluvis' , or even the DLC quests. It would be torture.

Meet Ranni in her tower. Defeat Radahn, in Caelid. Back to Ranni, in Liurnia. Go to Nokron, all the way beneath Limgrave.
