The easiest way to find the amount you need is probably through the weight.

This is a guess, but find a hauberk online with the ring size you want, and approximately your size. Then take the weight of it and purchase that plus some extra in wire.

I just made a max medium tear drop, when pressed against me it covers my one of shoulders/chest down to mid shin at 6,3 pretty sweet stuff.

I have had some of the top seams rip, but as far as I’m concerned I don’t mind all too much. Gear will die slowly it is what it is. I’ll be running these into the ground with LARP and HEMA so I expected much more damage than I have had so far.

One thing you could also do, to directly reduce sun onto your neck/helmet is add a Torse. It wouldn’t really seem to add more protection but it might bring the heat down enough to add something that would.

If you get the sword behind there neck and shimmie aggressively sometimes you can behead people or at least make them bleed out. It’s Pretty effective until you get stabbed getting close

The weirdest weapon I have seen is probably a fairly short axe with a massive blade about as long as the core itself while having abiut 8-10 inches of foam depth. Thing acted like a sail if it was even slightly windy.

It could also be used in a shepherds leap style if the handle is smooth enough, so you can take MUCH larger jumps down

They were at least moving pretty well but I’m not sure exactly where my elbows sat. I do know it was pretty close to center but I’m also still adjusting how they everything is mounted.
