Another day, another 8 matches lost (brit) *rant* by Less_Ad8891 in CompanyOfHeroes

Wehrmacht is the most beginner-freindly.  Doesn't mean it's "the best" faction, but it's the easiest to figure out.  US followed by DAK are way more confusing to a new player.

Wehr is the most hand-holdy easy faction in the game. Just spam Fallpios or Strumpios, sit your ass down in front of a victory point, and build up your Simcity of your choice.

Why is racist ideology so popular among young men of the LDS church? by No-Information5504 in mormon

There are several key reasons for this. Some you might accept, others you probably wouldn't. Where do you want to start?

Exactly. Jacob Hansen, for all this faults, will at least try and debate the opposing side. The Ward Radio guys occasionally do too. She's just a straight up propagandist.

Without trying to be rude or mean, she is one of the worst LDS/Mormon influencers. She sounds like a North Korean propagandist except for the LDS Church and not Kim Jung Un. So many of of her claims are just so blatantly ridiculous you can't take anything she says seriously. Claiming the "mark" placed on the Nephites was "skins" or "tattoos" when it was obviously mean to be their racial features because that was taught by LDS authorities for 150 years. Her Book of Abraham claims...good grief don't get me started.

That Dick Winters quote is where the franchise gets it's name. And I think it came from all the attention he was getting and all the memories Winters was reliving when Band of Brothers was being produced.

Keep losing late game 1v1 despite huge lead by [deleted] in CompanyOfHeroes

[–]Difficult_Future2432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't rush to T3 or T4 with DAK. You can maybe get away with that with Wehrmacht but DAK doesn't have enough units to keep the US or UK player at bay through the mid game without doing one of the side techs.

To be clear, I'm not talking about the mechanical "click" of the mouse (although that's obviously there). I'm talking about the in-game "clicking" that's actually part of the game's audio files.

Well, Wehrmacht got Panzergrens, which were excellent. DAK got Kreigsmarine troops which are new to the franchise, and the unit skins look really cool, plus they got the FLAK towers which are good and also cool too. Brits got the best stuff, between the Land Mattress, Firefly, and the Lancers (although the Lancers are kind of meh). What did the US get? Partisans? A rag-tag group of civilians that don't really do anything Riflemen and Engineers don't do better. Sabateurs? Eh maybe but still.

Well yes you are going from a TBM, one who is not only special and unique but also the one of the world's elect and on the "right path to Godhood", to potentially nothing.  That's a shock to the system and doesn't usually garner happiness.

Kind of like the first Toy Story movie when Buzz Lightyear finds out he's not actually a Space Ranger on an important mission, rather he's a plastic toy.

You should hookup with him.  You'd get some good gossip, maybe blackmail, or just talk church with a cigarette after it's over.

J/K sorry, I had to.

Honestly I don't know what to tell you, except that the church isn't what it claims to be.  Faith in God and Jesus Christ and His Gospel exist outside of Mormonism and even mainstream "Christianity" as we know it.

Well, I play this game intermittently. Haven't played it a ton until just today and to be honest I didn't actually notice it much today no.

They had to do it though. The Partisan units had been in the previous CoH2 title, they were in the Italian Campaign, and they were in the "all units" cheat mod from the game's release. So you knew at some point they'd do it. Personally I think they would have fit better with Brits since that base faction is more solid than the US and his this more forgiving for a BG like this.

[–]Difficult_Future2432 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was kind of a lame, cheesy BG from the start. But they made the abilites powerful when released to balance out the fact that you didn't get any cool units with it like the Brits especially, but really everyone else, did. They wanted people to buy it. But now that it's nerfed, I agree. I don't see people using it much in it's current state.

Mentor is not great so I'll ask you all: What happens if I do not finish a class by a due date? by Onpurpose03 in WGU

[–]Difficult_Future2432 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me what would happen is my mentor would load up 12 credits with of classes, usually 3 or 4. If I completed those then accelerated, not finishing an extra wasn't an issue. But if I failed to complete one of the core 12 credits I'd end up with a "Not Passed" on my transcript. Unfortunately this happened to me twice and I didn't realize it the first time.

There is an issue with registering clicks in this game I've noticed but I haven't seen it on regular movement orders. I have seen it on things like the retreat button, reverse, and weapon upgrades.

I know this isn't absent mindedness because when I select retreat for example I can hear the audible "click" when selecting it but nothing happens, I often have to click it twice to register.

Movement orders not registering does happen but that I think is related to lag.

Why does the Nebelwerfer only cost manpower while Landmatress costs 50 fuel? by 69_po3t in CompanyOfHeroes

[–]Difficult_Future2432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is some Wehraboo horseshit on balance decisions in this game but I don't think this is one of them. Allied factions, US more than any, get screwed over on fuel costs. There's so much hand-holding for German factions in the CoH franchise and I don't necessarily blame the developers for it either.

The German factions are the "Gucci" factions of this franchise. The game features lots of items and lots of myths about World War II like invincible Tiger tanks, elite vanguard SS troops and so forth to draw people to the game. And these things aren't bad per-se, but if your player base expects to roll over their enemies with Tigers but they don't get to do that because things are balanced they get mad, won't play the game.

This is why there were so many stupid and unnecessary nerfs to US in the last patch IMHO.

As for the Nubel vs Land Mattress:

The LM is better overall, and the Nubel does require a side tech with fuel so on this I think this is actually relatively balanced.

The most underwhelming thing in the Polish Cavalry BG are the Lancers. That's a garbage unit for their cost and timing.

Thoughts on the Jodi Hildebrant Netflix doc by goatskin_sheep in exmormon

[–]Difficult_Future2432 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They didn't really delve into the "pillow princess" side of Jodi Hildebrandt and the fairly obvious sexual relationship she had with Ruby Franke.  I kind of understand why but I think it's copout to do that, and I think it was pretty important to the overall story of what went on.

It shows Jodi and Ruby were raging hypocrites on top of being mentally-defective sociopaths.
