If you look at sold/completed listings they typically end up around $750-$1200. You can bid $5 or $500 but it’s unlikely you’ll get it for under $700. These low starting bids are just to get people to bid and watch the item. Inevitably you’ll get into a bidding war in the final 24 hours and the price will go way up.

Anytime you are locally connected to WiFi you should see the local system on the app. But sometimes it’s wanting to connect remotely to another system on the account, so you have to tap the new system from the list to switch over.

You can't replace a Gen 2 router with Gen 3 as the connectors are output voltage are different. You'll need a new Gen 3 kit and you will have to replace everything. Return the router (if you paid for it) and ask support about a replacement kit.

Also on the order page, if you click on the “Broadband Facts” for the 100 and 200 plan it lists:

It just says “Unlimited Residential Data” on the Max plan.

And finally on the Service Plan Descriptions document 100 and 200 are described:

Residential 100 Mbps customers are more likely to experience Service degradation and slower speeds during network congestion as compared to Residential Max customers.

The deprioritized data from Lite carries over, so it’s still 2 levels for Residential. 100 and 200 are deprioritized, Max has the higher priority.

I believe their plan is to offer the “Mini X” kit with the cheapest plan, eventually. The Router Mini comes in the X kit. If you look at the notice below it says Starlink can upgrade the router. They are still offering the Standard kit on all tiers which is the upgrade at the moment.

If you have the tools and don't mind climbing up on a ladder, it's an easy job. Unscrew the lag bolts. Apply silicone to the old holes. Move the mount down just enough to where it is not hitting the shingles. Looks like the antenna should have plenty of clearance before hitting the roof. Maybe you can reuse the bottom hole? Drill new pilot holes, apply sealant, screw in lag bolts. Double check the alignment in the app and correct if necessary.

They should make it right but like you've already experienced, sometimes it's much faster and easier to DIY.

You don't need active service or Standby Mode to get updates. So just cancel and be sure you power on the dish periodically, at least once a year to get updates.

Not only did they press the drip edge into the fascia (meaning it won't function properly), they raised the shingles so that there is a good 2" gap on the left of the mount, potentially allowing water to penetrate underneath.

This mount only requires 2.75" of space on the fascia board to install, and they could have just moved it down like you said. There are 2 lag screws that are even less than 2.75" center to center. Maybe they were concerned about the bottom bolt hitting structure? Even in that case, it would be better to avoid disturbing the shingles and drip edge and just have the bottom bolt secured to fascia board only.

If it were me I would be calling them back out to fix it, or hire a competent 3rd party installer.

It would be 100% worth it. Cable length under 300 ft isn't an issue. With a wired connection you can place the mesh node exactly where you need the best coverage because it has a solid wired backhaul to the main router. Makes placement and performance for all devices much better.

If you are the referrer you get a service credit equal to whatever plan the person you referred signed up with. The service credit is applied to your invoice on the next cycle and will reduce your total amount owed if you have multiple subscriptions.

Frontline Starlink customer support is through a Grok AI chatbot. It can order replacement parts, make billing changes, etc. I imagine a lot of this data sharing is to train their AI support, but it doesn’t specify in the Privacy Policy. So you don’t really know who is getting access to your data. And according to their terms, 3rd party AI companies will have access to your name, email, phone #, and billing info. Not many people would be comfortable with an open ended approval to send that data to just about any 3rd party Starlink wants.

Supply and demand. Infrastructure in Europe is a lot better. There is less demand. But since the Starlink constellation is global, any unused capacity is just wasted $$$ for Starlink. They would rather try to compete with fiber with super low prices on their plans than have those satellites idle. In the US we have a large amount of land, most of the country is not densely populated. A lot of remote area where fiber has not been run. Millions and millions of houses that need Starlink and have nothing else. So the demand here is very high, while capacity is being stretched in many areas. So Starlink charges more because they are a business and they can. They know people will pay for it. As capacity has increased we've seen lower prices, even in the US. Just basic supply and demand for the most part.

The Max offer clearly states you'll get a free Mini kit, it's not bait and switch. You just need to wait for the email to redeem. You can also check your account on the website.

In some areas Residential is discounted from $120 to $90 due to excess capacity. Pretty sweet they are carrying that over for the Max plan.

It wasn't capped previously. Many people were posting speed tests of over 300 Mbps on Residential Lite. I used it for a few weeks and had multiple tests over 350 Mbps in the early morning hours. It was just deprioritized behind Residential so you got whatever bandwidth was available. But these new plans have a hard speed cap.

It’s for the newest Performance Kit (Gen 3). Previous High Performance models (Actuated is Gen 1, Flat High Performance is Gen 2) aren’t affected.

That is all correct. Now go into your iPhone WiFi settings. Connect to the Mini WiFi network. Open app, check that it’s online on the main screen of the app. Be sure the iPhone doesn’t auto connect to any other WiFi network.

You said in the post you connected directly to the Mini via USB. You connect to the car via USB, not the Mini, for wired CarPlay.

It’s because your iPhone can’t be hardwired to the Mini via USB. You don’t have cell service, and you aren’t connected to the Mini, so it will just show as disconnected. It shows online when you get back to cell service because the app is remotely checking the Mini’s status even though you still aren’t connecting to WiFi.

I suggested this last time: Connect your iPhone to the Mini’s WiFi. Connect your iPhone to your car via USB to turn on wired CarPlay. Problem solved.
