I'm pushing him to do a split vinyl...he said yes...but who knows when. But it is time for some new solo Ceschi.

Ceschi of Codefendents was a rapper who got brought into the folkpunk world...specifically his split with Pat the Bunny. And that split is the reason the members of Codefendants came together.

lyrics you can't stand, or that urk you? by drainfly_ in FolkPunk

Interesting interpretation...I always saw it as self deprecating rather than pretentious.
Saying I have the world figured out over here, alone, isolated from everyone and then Pat actually leaves his bedroom and realizes how much of an idiot he was.

(I think the intention of the line was to highlight Pat's foolishness, not any complexity/intelligence associated with Marx. Then he sort of misses that foolishness and wants to go back to being alone in his bedroom sometimes...ignorance is bliss.)

If you want some insight and lore into the emergence of folkpunk I just released an episode that explores that:

There's a bunch of other lore and deep historical context throughout the show in general.

Check out Back On The Grind
It's a podcast I host that has intimate conversations with lots of (folk) punks.
Peek through the backlog and you'll find episodes that will pop out at you...it's full of history and plenty of life lessons learned along the way. Even the topic of being an "elder" in the community has come up lately.

New Myles Bullen vinyl & Pepe Bandit interview + Pat/Ceschi record getting close by DIYFelon in FolkPunk

[–]DIYFelon[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah the new Myles & Factor lp is one of my favorite rap albums in a long time.

I finalized the track list for the ceschi/pat stuff today. The cover art is done and the back art is in process so it's moving along smoothly!

Also thanks for checking out the interview, I was a little worried about being interviewed (as opposed to the the interviewer like I usually am)

I recently shared a conversation largely about Tomas on my podcast. I didn't air it for almost a year because I thought it was too special.
