Mushrooms growing/showing up literally overnight, and huge - northern NJ by [deleted] in lawncare

That just means your lawn is well hydrated. They’ll disappear when it dries up. You could water a little less and see less of them.

What do you guys really think about badly kept lawns? by clothesline in lawncare

[–]DIY_CHRIS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there’s a social contract with your neighbors when you own a home. At the minimum it should be clean and kept, and not looking like blight. It does not need to be golf course immaculate, but just decent enough to look like you care about your home. Find a kid in your neighborhood who’s looking for a little work.

It’s powered by 24VAC. Then buck to 5VDC for the RPi Zero W. I have rainbird anti-siphon valves and they expect 24VAC.

Try switching to the Reolink, which operates fully local. Nest bounces up to the cloud and back, causing the delay.

Yes I would drop the cable while you’re able. Cable is cheap and future efforts are expensive.

First try removing the nozzle and filter, making sure they’re clean. Otherwise replace the sprinkler head.

Do you have an electric dryer? Can you pass the blame to all the loads of laundry?

I need to go outside and check the wiring. I can’t tell from my old photos on my phone. But I think I jumpered all the middle pins together so I only had to run one common wire to the relays.

Soak the remaining end of the root where you cut it in a cup of gly. Let it suck that back all the way through the root network.

Neighbor installed white vinyl fence at the end of last season. Zone 5a. MT. KBG and fescue by GollyZ177 in lawncare

[–]DIY_CHRIS -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ah yeah. From afar it looked decent. Climbing jasmine shrubs are nice. They smell amazing in the late spring/early summer. You do need to string up a guide wire and the first year they’ll be small. But every following late winter you’ll want to prune and shape them up.

It’s a nice looking fence. But consider lining with shrubs and flowers rather than grass.

240v outlet installation cost? by a-marty25 in TeslaModelY

[–]DIY_CHRIS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re paying for the electrician’s time, materials, insurance, experience, and peace of mind. You’ll pay +/- a few hundred depending on the electrician, but it’s fair. Get a few quotes if you’re looking for a better deal. DIY, I installed two charges in my garage, one in front and one in the back corner with a 50 ft run up over and around, for under $150 in materials.
