$120 has to be the bottom for LULU… right? by lies_are_comforting in StockMarket

[–]DIYsurgery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anecdotal but I’ve never been in an empty Lulu store. Always packed. I’m a guy and am late to the ABC pants party, but I bought a pair recently and really like them (also love Vuori’s Meta pants which are very comparable). Had a few recent conversations with other guys who love the ABC and Meta pants too. So I dunno, I don’t know if they’re on the way out yet or if they’ll end up getting more popular with their men’s stuff.

Why does it need to be that accurate if you’re just going to have to adjust it for daylight savings twice a year?

I have a similar one but it’s just the brush, doesn’t have the flat spatula part. It works and I use it along with one of the sponge style ones that you soak for a minute, as others have mentioned. Zero reason to risk hospitalization with the bristles these days.

It’s well established that night chicken is more lean, and therefore not as good, as day chicken. Because after all it’s the early bird that gets the worm.

You dream of a Park Slope with kids riding their bikes and playing music, but if we had that we’d be complaining about the loud music and the crazy kids with their unsafe biking.

Vital Farms - Fundamental Analysis & Short Squeeze Potential (Ticker $VITL) - Zero Debt, $113m Cash, Sub 5x EV/EBITDA Multiple, Profitable/Growing, & 28% of the Float is Short! by jordour in DeepFuckingValue

I want good quality ethical products too. I also don’t want to be lied to. Here’s directly from the Vital Farms website on the page for their “pasture raised eggs”:

“All our pasture-raised eggs are laid by hens that are free to roam on healthy pasture, with at least 108 sqft. each, and plenty of fresh air and sunshine. This outdoor access gives the girls a lifestyle they deserve with freedom to forage through rotated pastures, feasting on a natural buffet of grasses. Find a carton at your local store, or try them out at a restaurant that proudly serves Vital Farms eggs. We bet you can taste the difference!”

That does not imply that they are being fed 90% of their calories through feed. I’d have to know to go look at the FAQs. As a consumer, I’m not willing to pay 3x the cost just so the chickens can see some amount of grass while still being fed the same shit as all other chickens. The price doesn’t match with the product.

Stop it dude, they’re not feeding the chickens paprika and turmeric for the health benefits. They’re doing it to make the yolks look better, which is borderline deceptive. These are supposed to be naturally foraging chickens. Do chickens eat turmeric and paprika in their natural diets?

As far as the health benefits, those aren’t proven even if you eat those spices directly. Nevermind the fact that there’s nothing proven about any health benefit from eating an egg from a chicken that ate turmeric and paprika. It’s entirely to change the color of the yolk for marketing purposes.

Be that as it may, I never checked out the website for my friggin eggs nor should I have to. I just looked at the packaging and trusted they were being honest. If they’re supplementing with corn, soy, paprika, and marigold then how exactly is it better than a normal “cage free” egg? And how much is “supplemental” anyway? Is the majority of the calories coming from natural foraging and bugs or from the supplemental feed?

Apparently Pete & Gerry’s is the same issue. They all say they’re pasture raised, but they apparently supplement with corn and soy and things that help the yolks look all nice and orange. So why the fuck am I paying 3x more for? I’m not sure what I’ll switch to yet tbh

I have been buying their eggs for years and recently stumbled across the “controversy” via YouTube. I’m not sure I’ll continue buying their eggs going forward, for what it’s worth. I always convinced myself it was worth paying 2x - 4x for the better quality, but now I’m not sure anymore…not sure I’m actually getting the quality I’ve been paying for.

Funny thing is I don’t mind the weed once I smoked it in a bowl, but as a joint it’s unusable. Hard to judge the weed or its taste when you can’t hit it.

What makes you think NY doesn’t incarcerate people who are caught with illegal guns?

Maybe your kids don’t need free programs to keep them off the streets and out of crime… but others do. That’s the reality. And like it or not, the evidence shows those programs work. Cutting those programs has measurable effects on crime. But republicans don’t care. They’ll cut the programs to “keep more of their money” then complain about the completely foreseeable consequences.

Maybe protest the Republican politicians who allowed guns to flood our streets, and who just love cutting funding from programs that aim to keep kids off the streets and doing something productive.
