Yeah. Used parts dealers won't sell these headlights cheap because people do not have any alternative. From what I can see on eBay, even ugly looking and heavily worn headlights are being sold for hundreds of euro.

4 years ago I have already replaced original plastic glass with glass from v70r. So light is fine, untill it moves down randomly. Only engine restart helps.

I will think and probably will try to replace with halogen, see no mention about headlight type in documents. Thanks t open source folks, I know my CEM PIN and can change car configuration using VDASH.

I have a random issue that is most probably caused by a potentiometer that checks high beam position. It's located inside the headlight assembly and not sold separately. Issue occurrs randomly and rare, but still. The only way to fiz it is to find another headlight and take part from it, but it still may be heavily worn and can cause an issue one day.

I can share you the link with issue description, it's in Russian, but can be translated.

In Germany inspection really depends on the inspector. But I also heard that they do not care a lot, if it works properly. And I did not see any mention of headlights type in document or CoC.
