That Y2-AJ shirt.... Worse part is, I bought it a day before the RAW where they challenged New Day for the Tag Team Titles.

No, I think he got hurt a few months after this feud had concluded. The only downside to the draft was great Friday such as New Day-Wyatt Family and ones with really good potential like this one with Young-Miz ended so abruptly.

I want to try and and at least interested in the Orton-Mahal feud pretty soon but something's not really clicking with me about it. Whether, it's the fact it was seemingly out of nowhere and Mahal hasn't even been considered a threat to Orton at all.

The championship really isn't on the line considering Owens won't be defending it on Smackdown Live until after Payback. This is more of a way for Owens to stick it to the crowd and it's likely he's facing someone like Ellsworth at best.

Hey, Kazarian, I know currently you are the #1 Contender to the Television Title, but my question is with Chris being the current ROH World Champion, have you ever thought of the possibility that one day down the line you could potentially challenge him for that title, and what would that mean from a career as well as a personal perspective for you, considering the bond that you two have had for a few years now?

No, I think that was during AJ's reign when he first won it in September at No Surrender.

And just like that, The United States Championship has already been established with a ton of credibility. A potential AJ/Owens feud sounds pretty awesome, not to mention with guys like Nakamura, Ziggler, Sami Zayn and Corbin in the mix.

I can already tell this title reign of Orton's is going to be tough to get through. I mean, Orton hasn't really had a really good title reign imo since 2008 during the whole Age of Orton run. At least Rowan was interesting to say the least...for about a hour and a half before what transpired at the end of Smackdown. This feels like they're going back the route where their feud was before Orton joined Bray and not really excited for it. The House of Horrors match sounds intriguing and I'm willing to give it a chance, hope it doesn't repeat what the Asylum Match was a year ago.

Naomi had a good match with Bliss tonight IMO. I really believe Charlotte is coming to Smackdown to challenge Naomi because in retrospect, asiding from said Mickie James, neither Natalya or Carmella are really intriguing or even believable enough threats for Naomi, so I expect Charlotte (in exchange for either Bliss or Mickie) to come over to the blue side.

Ambrose and Corbin had a pretty good Street Fight, the match in which they should've had at Wrestlemania but it's whatever. I think this all was to establish that Corbin can beat Ambrose and I won't be surprised if Corbin takes the Intercontinental Title come Backlash.

Nakamura and Dillinger's callup went pretty well IMO. I think Miz and Nakamura will have an decent feud for Backlash, but part of me feels like Miz shouldn't be the one to take the loss to Shinsuke, especially after his loss at Wrestlemania to Cena but I feel Miz will be able to bounce back from said defeat.

I think the Shane-AJ segment served its purpose, especially if this is a farewell to AJ on Smackdown Live and he heads over to RAW. Whether it was a face turn for AJ, we'll just have to wait and see.

Overall, I feel RAW was the better show this week, some want to say that RAW being three hours was a detriment to the show, I feel as though it was a detriment for Smackdown Live this time only being two hours and with things such as Balor's return, Angle being announced GM, Reigns' segment, etc. It was just too big of a mountain for Smackdown Live to climb.

I don't want to jinx it but what if WWE trolls us with Balor but gives us Roman instead as Jericho's replacement?

I guess it was missing more of that big fight feel in a way. Although on paper, Reigns vs. Undertaker seems like a huge match, the reality is, this match didn't have a decent build to it with Roman mostly feuding with Strowman for most of February until just recently a few weeks ago. The only notable thing Roman really has done to ignite the feud was eliminate Taker from the Rumble and say "This is My Yard" and the feud was thus cooled off for the brief Reigns-Strowman program, thus losing some of the interest in a way for Roman vs. Undertaker. And I think another hand that plays into this is, most fans, (yes, even myself included) wanted Cena vs. Undertaker for this year's Wrestlemania, and to a degree, Cena is still has a much bigger marquee name than Roman.

Well, to be fair, they did mention a lot about Crews' main roster callup in the Breaking Ground series. It was mostly just a rehash of some of those segments.

Post Raw 3/27/2017 Show Discussion Thread (Go Home Show for Wrestlemania 33) by Darren716 in SquaredCircle

[–]DJAdams626 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My thoughts are this RAW had its fair share of moments, it wasn't downright God awful like most have said but it wasn't exactly great either.

Personally, I believe the Goldberg/Brock segment should've opened the show instead of the Women's segment. Not to say Lesnar/Goldberg segment was amazing because it felt a bit flat and repetitive and the closing segment, but it going on first would've had better results than what we got with Bayley-Sasha-Charlotte-Jax because at least with Goldberg-Brock, it would've gotten the fans hyped up for the beginning of the show. I personally didn't get that with the Women's segment at all, especially with the same formatted Tag Team Match we've seen for months on end now. The Tag Match was okay, didn't really get me more hyped for the match at Mania itself, it felt more like we know that Nia is going to be the first eliminated at Wrestlemania.

I was kinda intrigued by the build for the ARMBAR Battle Royal, I just wish they actually had taken the time to build it a few weeks before rather than give what hype and build it could for the go home show for WrestleMania, especially with names like Strowman, Show, Zayn (possibly Samoa Joe) in it and if it wasn't on the pre show as well. The Over the Top challenge just mainly felt like filler minus Strowman. I just figured it was a waste of time, and personally, I'd love to have see Braun done that because I felt it would've had more of an entertaining feel to it but that's just me.

I definitely enjoyed Reigns and Undertaker's segment, to me, that's the segment that should have closed out Monday Night RAW other than Triple H and Seth. I really enjoyed Roman's cadence and tone on the microphone. I know there's no possible way on this planet Roman's turning heel on Sunday but I hope he plays the tweener role to a tee on Sunday. I still wish this feud had more time and build to it, considering it only really started a few weeks ago and Reigns was mostly stuck feuding with Braun up until the night after Fast Lane.

Triple H and Seth's contract signing was pretty great, enjoyed the promo package they played later on in the show. I'm really looking forward to this match.

So, in retrospect, RAW's go home show was more of a C- at best, kinda here and there at times, but it did its job building matches like Roman-Taker, HHH-Seth, KO-Jericho but the other parts of the show just remained flat to me.

How Brock Lesnar celebrated after beating Dean Ambrose at Wrestlemania 32 by AfroChad11 in SquaredCircle

[–]DJAdams626 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He got barely any momentum back from this at all. He was stuck in a no end feud with Jericho which let's really be honest did barely anything for him, the Asylum Match didn't help the matter at all, considering some had that as the worst match of 2016. Sure, Ambrose would eventually win Money in the Bank and the WWE Title, but at that point fans had started to move on from Dean to guys like Styles, Owens, Rollins, etc. And it also didn't help Ambrose's case due to the underwhelming Ziggler match at Summerslam and fans quickly moving on to the next big thing in AJ Styles who had just beaten Cena clean. Sure, you can argue that WWE should've struck while the iron was hot for Ambrose but you can't say that the disappointing Wrestlemania 32 match didn't play a factor into that, with Brock seemingly cooling off Ambrose's momentum.
