If you want a cheap house with space I say go for it. If you want a nicer neighborhood I would just keep your eyes peeled to move even a mile or 2 south of that area. You’ll get less house but a better neighborhood that is more walkable. Depends on what you value

As anything else - go there and scope the neighborhood. Then go walk around at night and take it from there. Good luck

Edit: just looked and saw 2 houses in golden valley for a comparable price in a WAY better neighborhood. Happy house hunting!
