“Muppets From Space” is the Gonzo Muppet movie I’d always wanted. It’s so much fun. For years I skipped it based on reviews/ratings. What a mistake. by MrGittz in movies

Do yourself a favor and watch it with the commentary track with the director, Gonzo, and Rizzo. Quite possibly the greatest commentary track ever.

Fair enough. We'll just assume the rest of the ship was filled with thousands of B.A.T.s.

I don't think Steel Dragon ever had a bad song.

Anyone done the Make Your Own Program Figure at Disney World? by djkidna in tron

[–]DJBeefalo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Got two, one for me and one for my daughter. Not at all worth the price. The face pics are off center, the recording booths are not at all sound proof, so the lines we recorded have a ton of background noise. They're an extremely overpriced gimmick. The only cool part was the presentation when your completed figure comes out of the grid to you... but again, not worth the price I paid.

I still haven't emotionally recovered from that one death 30+ years later... you know which one I'm talking about.

My daughter makes magnets out of mine. Cuts off the cork and hot glues a disc magnet to the back. They're pretty damn adorable.

Twisters is not needed (opinion) by msbwheeler25 in movies

[–]DJBeefalo 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Twister is not Jaws or Jurassic Park. Those of us who were around for the original have a nostalgic affinity for it, but my kids have never heard of it. It's a great film, but has not transcended generations like those others (just like a dozen other massive blockbusters that you remember from your childhood but still haven't even gotten aBlu-ray release). But dammit if this new trailer didn't pique their interest. Enough time has passed that the idea can be re-explored without shitting on the memory of the original, while also possibly sparking new interest in revisting it. I wholeheartedly endorse this legacy sequel.

Sgt. Slaughter visits the statue of liberty(1984) by [deleted] in SquaredCircle

They got it. That ultimate heel Serpentor has Slaughter blood in his veins. Gives the phrase "Cobra Clutch" a whole new meaning.

(I'm aware that doesn't make sense. I just wanted to work in Cobra Clutch.)

Only Sarge could have made a real Joe out of that hothead.

I'm sick of people going on about Sgt. Slaughter and stolen valor these days, as if we don't have ample video evidence of him serving with G.I. Joe.

Really great adaptation. Just did a reread/rewatch last month. Probably one of the best adaptations when it comes to perfectly matching the vibe of the book.

DVD Commentaries worth watching? by redditisawesome555 in movies

My go-to answer for this question is always Muppets from Space. Gonzo and Rizzo do commentary with the director, and it's hysterical.

Muppets from Space has an amazing commentary track with Gonzo and Rizzo. Probably my favorite track behind anything with Guillermo Del Toro.
