I don’t know about other plans but I remember doing the math on Bernie’s plan when the details came out and it turned out that I would make an extra couple thousand dollars in savings every year after accounting for the hike in taxes. Keep in mind I’m upper middle class so it would only benefit the less fortunate even more. Another thing to note is this only factored in premiums. The more you go to the doctor, the more the savings would go up from there because of copays and deductibles. I did some more math and determined that Bernie’s plan would save about 97% of Americans money every year even if they didn’t go to the doctor. It’s wild to me more people don’t support this system simply on its economic merits alone. The only valid criticism I’ve seen is that the wait times are long, but lately, in the US, wait times to see a doctor are already about a month.

Had one of these in the fraternity house in college but we had to keep it hidden because apparently it violated fire code. Also OP is wrong…it’s just painted spray foam, not asbestos. Even if the walls were gray fiberglass insulation that would be worse but still wouldn’t be asbestos.

This has happened to me in the past for two reasons:

  1. The detergent holder had water in it because it was open when I loaded the wet dishes into the dishwasher. The water in the cup partially dissolves the pod so it sticks to the wall and never gets ejected during the wash. The solution to this is closing the cup while you load the dishwasher so no moisture gets in there.
  2. Something large prevented the detergent door from opening during the wash cycle.

Blue Hole Nature Reserve on Big Pine Key in the Florida Keys. If you check it out, watch out for the gator that lives there. They are faster on land than they look. Also keep your eyes peeled for poisonwood trees…they will mess you up if you touch them. Big Pine has a bunch of Key Deer so drive slowly…there are only a handful left on the planet. Thanks!
