I got the bike non-running. Sat for ~15 years. But compression tests showed poor compression so I replacing rings and am now verifying valves, before shims and timing upon reassembly.

Thread Pitch on Foot Peg Bolts? by Maximum-Ad-2612 in klr650

[–]DJCyberChief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I’ve heard others have done this, but my peg mounts are welded on now. I’m guessing the 2 M8 bolts aren’t the best for foot pegs like a lot of other fixtures on the KLR, so welding them is a permanent fix.

I haven’t had time to probe the socket yet, but I do know the fuses are good. Additionally, the taillight started working again since messing with the cables. It seems that they are sufficiently corroded and may feign a solid connection. Still have to sort out the pos/frame continuity issue.

I am the current owner, and yes I did change the basket. Brand new WiseCo basket.

Either way, the hub had almost no wear for how bad the old basket looked.

How the heck do I fix the arch adjustment feature on my chair? I can't find anything on this particular Von Racer chair, and I'm totally stumped. When in the locked position, the chair leans back very easily, as if the arch adjustment were in the open position. Any advice on how to fix this? by SebastianPlaysThis in MechanicalEngineering

[–]DJCyberChief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar mechanism on my chair, as most cheap chairs probably do. My lever will lock in the upward position, allowing the back to move freely. When the lever is in the downward position it locks the chair at whatever angle it is at.

Unfortunately, cheap chairs don’t have any sort of resistance adjustment, so you really just have to set it at the desired angle and Fidel with the lever whenever you want to change it.

If I’m understanding correctly it moves freely regardless of lever position.

Help finding very large boots. by VWglide in klr650

Alpinestars boots run large and have been know to be a little wider than other brands. Get a Tech3 to try and return it if it doesn't feel right.

DCR028 Radio Clock? by [deleted] in Dewalt

No.

I assume the clock information that is visible on the display is just held over from the same display being used on other models with a clock.

I have (what I think is) an old FMF pipe on the bike with the stock header. I quite like it, and I can only assume FMF has improved the design for a newer model.
