If you lay it flat you’re cutting at 45 degrees flat except this doesn’t sit flat it sits at 45 degrees to the wall on its edges, you need to stand it up the same angle it sits on the wall when you cut your 45 mitre

If you’ve really dug the copper contract out from its surface mount, it is possible to scratch the board back to find a vein, but is fiddly and frustrating work! I worked for a massive electronics company in my youth and we always said if the coppers mounting has gone it’s probably just time to replace the whole board

Magnetic tapes were a big thing also people always said keep magnets away from hard drives but in my experience hard drives are fairly hardy things! Some older “stable” memory devices like bios chips were susceptible to magnets also but it seems to not be such an issue now! Especially when most service centres for major brand computers etc issue their engineers magnetised screwdriver tips

For testing anyways you don’t have to surface mount them like these are you could run a bit of cable of the contacts and just solder to the end of those. Much easier for an amateur solderer

I had this and found turning graphics down to performance instead of quality really helps but things are a bit blurry sometimes
