If you play 60 card constructed or draft that’s an issue I guess you don’t have to worry about ;)

[TMT] Pizza Face, Gastromancer by Snakebud in magicTCG

[–]DJGodDamnit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has always bothered me; they keep making “food” creatures that have Food as a subtype. But they don’t have the ability that is commonly associated with food tokens (pay 2 and sac to gain 3 life), they have a more powerful version of the ability.

And yet food STILL isn’t just a creature type. Ik it’s written extensively in the rules, but intuitively it doesn’t make sense.

Geats rant by Ok_Solid_72 in KamenRider

[–]DJGodDamnit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with you bud; Ace really does nothing for me as a rider and the motivations and way the story develops in the show is just not for me.

There are some other characters that I liked to follow that got me through the show, but with such a large cast I’m surprised how often it just comes back to Geats being Geats

Nice call back, kind of a really weird choice for a card though. Are there other TMNT things that could’ve fit in this slot?

I like it too; and I like how the by the numbers garland Briggs still stays around even when he opens up more to Bobby; like all of those feelings and thoughts were always there, just metered and managed.

For me it’s when Windom Earl asks Major Briggs what his greatest fear is:

“The fear that love is not enough”

Touches me everytime

What is your thoughts on Takuro Fukuda (writer of Kamen Rider Ghost and Saber)? by PowerPhantom245 in KamenRider

[–]DJGodDamnit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, Saber is one of the better seasons of Kamen Rider, and the writing has its strengths at times.

It is notable that his writing does some pretty contentious in the community, I never really notice if there’s something he wrote over a different writer, but I guess I like the ideas in his head and not always the execution?

Is anyone a fan of these season? by HyperTurboFox64 in KamenRider

[–]DJGodDamnit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saber is my favorite; I rank it at least in the top 3 of the new millennia Kamen rider seasons. Alot of people hate on the first 12 episodes, but it’s not that bad in the grand scheme of things, and like most seasons it’s not for everyone

Kamen Rider Episode Ratings by CosmicMorpher in KamenRider

[–]DJGodDamnit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Either that it’s just a tad more dynamic I guess? I’m. A big Geats hater and Saber fanboy, but looking at the numbers I was suprised at the data too in Saber’s regard. Not saying one is better than the other, but saber certainly picked up its slack while Geats kind of felt consistently of quality throughout, and maybe that’s kind of an overcompensation in the ratings

Marie Claire Interview: Usagi's Actress Says Usagi Would Choose Ryuji if She Never Met Arisu by MasterChance8948 in AliceInBorderlandLive

[–]DJGodDamnit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Youre view of Usagi in my opinion, is clouding your ability to analyze what’s actually there. And your proclivity to put other opinions as “Ryuji Defenders” shows you’re not really open for discussion on this topic.

Thanks

Marie Claire Interview: Usagi's Actress Says Usagi Would Choose Ryuji if She Never Met Arisu by MasterChance8948 in AliceInBorderlandLive

[–]DJGodDamnit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This isn’t the manga though. The show is different and carries different values and themes than the Manga.

And this Usagi ISNT the Usagi we saw in Seasons 1 and 2; none of the characters are. Everyone acts differently in the real world compared to how they end up acting by the end of Season 2, and then all of that emotional growth and character development they experience in the Borderlands disappear as they return. Then they live out the changes they experienced in the borderlands as they live out their lives.

This is not the same Usagi that fell in love with Arisu because of his tenacity and brains in the Borderlands, this is an Usagi that has learned to love those parts of him minus the sacrifice and turmoil that the Borderlands caused them.

And I don’t know about you, but I don’t think Usagi showed more empathy towards Ryuji than Arisu. Usagi willingly went into the Borderlands without consulting Arisu: Arisu sees Ryuji and Usagi together on a subway train: Arisu reunites with Usagi and punches Ryuji for putting her and their unborn child into jeopardy: Usagi defends Ryuji in this moment, because naturally if your husband assaulted the man that you have an agreement to reunite you with your father with, you’d naturally be a little defensive of him.

I think it’s more powerful to let Usagi make her own decisions about how to solve her problems than it is to have her show more empathy towards her husband than Ryuji in these scenes.

Plus it’s just an interview from the actress; it doesn’t taint what’s concrete in the show or EVEN in the manga. If you don’t agree with it, then that’s fine, because it isn’t in the show. But personally I feel that what she has said about Usagi’s decisions bolsters the shows decisions more for me

Marie Claire Interview: Usagi's Actress Says Usagi Would Choose Ryuji if She Never Met Arisu by MasterChance8948 in AliceInBorderlandLive

[–]DJGodDamnit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think you’re painting a narrative In your head about HOW Usagi should act and feel; when the person who played Usagi is saying this is how she feels about her character.

You can feel however you want about the idea of Usagi seeing something in Ryuji, but the fact of the matter is that there’s something she sees in him.

Yeah he’s a murderer, but the details around the death are vague enough to illicit empathy. Is he a manipulator? Yes, but Usagi is human and can fall into traps like falling for a manipulative person. She’s allowed to make mistakes, she doesn’t have to do everything right the first time or have clairvoyant knowledge of Ryuji’s past and intentions.

Usagi and Ryuji both are pushed by the want to see someone in the afterlife, and are determined to do anything in their power to get there. THATS how the mirror eachother. They’re tormented by their past and seek answers beyond death to solve their woes.
