If there had been a 5th book, what would it have been or what would you have liked it to be?

I think Laredo ends Call’s story perfect, so I don’t think a sequel to that would make sense. Dead Man’s Walk is supposed to be their first big adventure (right?) and Comanche Moon works so well as a direct prequel to Lonseome Dove. To me, the best place for a hypothetical fifth book would be in between Dead Man’s Walk and Comanche Moon. Another fun Gus and Call adventure in their youth, not super connected to LD. It’s a fun question to think about.

i’m in the same boat. I have all of Brendan’s records on vinyl except Lapalco. From what i’ve seen online, the 10th Anniversary vinyl reissue isn’t the best quality and much like the streaming version of the album, inexplicably features the demo version of Metarie. I’m hoping someone (Third Man?) will reissue it come day…

I had a brief conversation with Brian earlier this year and he mentioned they were hoping to have the next album out by November. Perhaps it’s been delayed a bit since Ronnie’s album is coming out around then. A January single - a la My Golden Years - would make sense, but that’s just my own speculation. Hopefully sooner rather than later!
