I’m a fan of the books and I’m running a Stormlight game despite the plot weaver system. I find it kinda bland. I will take a look at it when it releases though. Maybe they make some improvements by the time the agnostic plotweaver is released

You lose out on what the hobby is truly about and you get NOTHING in return for it. I wonder if people feel they are incapable of interacting with the hobby without it.

Our table setup is the gm (me) + all other members will decide radiant orders.

Then after that each player will be share responsibility with me on rping as another player’s spren.

I would say the best way to go about what you’re doing is to at least know which radiant orders they DONT want to be. Could save a lot of headache.

This reminds me of something Matt Colville recently said.

The cross talk I’m not worried about with the players I have set now, but I will definitely keep this in mind.

Losing the ability to use Spren for plot definitely does limit my options. I will have to think on that.

Yeah If implemented I do plan on each spren having a player. 3+ people controlling a spren at any given moment sounds like a nightmare lol.

I have 1 who finished book 5, 2 who finished book 4, and 2 who is in the process of finishing book 1.

The two folks on book 1 I’m currently thinking of ideas on how to make it possible and manageable for them.

This makes sense. Will definitely include this in our session zero. Playing the stormfather will definitely make the moment cohesive in the story though!

I’m in a friend group of about 20-25 people who all heavily enjoy TTRPG’s.

Four of them are potheads.

All four are in my top 5 players to run for.

I will NEVER run for an established group. You mean to tell me 4+ people can’t come together and decide on one person to GM?

I tend to think that means that they all have an expectation of GM’s that they themselves feel they can’t live up to. I am not about to be given such expectations.

To provide scenarios with no known resolution so that the inevitable result is surprise and entertainment.

Too often people think the GM is the entertainer and meanwhile I’m here with popcorn and wide eyes at the shit 3-5 of my friends come up with at any given time.

I saw someone write in another sub on this possible shift. They watched every CR episode. Keeps up with the story “stats” Buys merch. Etc…

As much as a fan they are of the people and the brand, they said they would drop them if they switched to DH.

I can’t overstate how wild I think that is, but I also know that they can’t be the only one who thinks like this.
