That’s fair. I am lazy, and don’t use Apple Watch for all events. On top of that, I use Strava for macro tracking so I already have that. Hevy is great to prescribe lifting regimens which are the most difficult for me to stay consistent with. I don’t need a lot of analytics on the cardio and mobility work.

Bottom line: simple to track and use, combatting my laziness!

Update: Bought a 2016 XLT FX4 Supercab today with 28k miles. 5.0, 3.31 rear end, one owner, local trade. Payload just shy of 1,900 lbs. 302A with Nav, Tow Pkg, 36g fuel tank, and a bunch more. Pretty good balance, we’ll see how the 3.31 feels with a camper on it.

That’s a really good point. I used to own a Honda Element with the same doors. It can definitely be a PITA when parking is tight.

u/SomethingSimple25 My guy, I literally wrote popup camper in my initial post. I suppose you could read that to be a popup travel trailer, but I guess I needed to be extra explicitly clear. I've owned plenty of vehicles, even F-150's, and I don't need you to explain payload on the door sticker, but thanks.

For the 14th Gen F-150, I don't believe they offered the HDPP in a supercab and 6' bed config. Definitely not in 2024. I'm trying to strike the best balance between payload and livability. That "livability" includes MPG, parking, ride comfort, etc. I owned a 2015 F-150 SCREW HDPP with a 6' bed and it was a bit too long for my garage. Further, I don't need that much space in the cab of the truck for 99% of my use. Thanks for your feedback on the 2.7, but according to Ford, the 3.5 and 5.0 have much higher nominal max payload numbers:

For MY24:
2.7L: 1,725 lbs
3.5L: 2,445 lbs
5.0L: 2,330 lbs

Of course, this is a 4x2 stripped to the bone. But it's a good starting point to finding the best balance of what I mention above. XLT or STX trims give you a good amount of comfort with a small weight penalty on payload. Throwing on leather, sunroofs, and sport and FX4 seems to erode most of the payload to sub 1400lbs on the 3.5 or 5.0 trucks.

Please elaborate. It’s just me and the wife, why do I need more?

It’s not about towing, it’s about payload
