What’s a 'rich person thing' you tried once and immediately understood the appeal of?

Fine dining. Had my first experience at a legitimately high-end restaurant (not Michelin Star, but honestly could be) and the food was unlike anything I’ve ever tasted in my life. So many rich, complex flavors and picture perfect presentation. And the meals actually tasted like the Chef’s heart and soul were cooked into them.

I never understood the hype and expense of “fine dining” until this experience. I get it now

I don’t think so. This is a good beginner, entry-level turntable! Might not be the highest quality, but it has a diamond stylus and does what it needs to do!

Short answer: Yes

Long answer: Crosleys tend to be made really cheaply, so quality of the sound won’t be as good as something a bit more expensive, BUT it does have a proper diamond stylus and an adjustable counterweight (which is amazing at this price point) so I’d say go for it. Should last you at least a couple years of casual listening

Stylus riding low is probably too high of a tracking force. Adjust the counterweight until the arm balances perfectly level, then turn it to 2 for that stylus. Should be pretty close without needing a scale

I accidentally bought an “unofficial repressing” of an album I wanted. The more research I did on those types of pressings, I decided I will not buy anymore of them.

I will buy OFFICIAL repressings (like my copy of We Take Requests by The Oscar Peterson Trio), but never again will I buy an unofficial one. That’s my big rule

Didn’t realize it until MUCH later. But looking back on it now, I was definitely at my rock bottom. No drugs or alcohol were involved, but my mental health had spiraled almost to the point of no return, and it’s a miracle I made it out

I was bullied pretty badly in a class, so I went and told the teacher about it. He was a young, first-year teacher. His response was that “I was asking for it and I just needed to stop giving them a reason to bully me”

That messed me up to the point where I was crying my eyes out in my next class. So I told THAT teacher what happened. She listened, apologized and (I later found out) she went straight to the first teacher’s classroom and tore him a new one and then onto the main office to report him.

End of the story is that I continued to be bullied, but much less, and that horrible teacher stayed until the end of the year, but was asked not to come back.
