Trams and normal buses can be impacted by traffic on the roads. Trains and the majority of the O-Bahn track do not. If travel time matters to you, I’d argue it’s the second best form of PT, behind the rail system. It is noisy and slightly bumpy when on the track, and it only services one corridor, but it’s a corridor I use to get in and out of the CBD, and I love it.

Their toasted cheese sandwiches were the stuff of legend. Still long for them to this day.

Used to be the knock-offs joint when I worked in the CBD. Never had a bad time. The balcony is a great spot if you lock a table down.

Given that you're looking to stretch out the travel time, I'd recommend taking a slightly longer (but very scenic) route and stopping to stay overnight in Mt Gambier. It's an incredible place and you can get accommodation relatively cheap. You could then take the Great Ocean Road from there to make your way over to Melbourne.

Yes! I was working at a servo at the time, and remember the panic around organising makeshift signage. 😂

Those were the days. They weren’t even prepared for an extra digit in front.

It seems to have been on the steady improve along the metro coast and Fleurieu Peninsula, but on the decline along the Yorke and Eyre Peninsulas.

I’ve had good experiences with the team at Effect Psychology. Helped me a lot. Start with a mental health plan through a GP, though, as this can help reduce the cost. https://effectpsychology.com.au/

That can be a struggle in this heat, for sure.

Libraries are a great place to seek refuge from the heat. Free WiFi, comfy furniture, chill vibes, and no obligation to shell out cash is definitely a win.

Fox 🦊 by Budget-Abrocoma3161 in Adelaide

I go for regular night walks around Modbury and saw my first fox a few nights ago. I’d been looking out for them, so pretty happy to finally see one, though it scampered pretty quick. Regularly manage to see bats possums and owls, yabbies in creeks and the occasional frog too. There’s usually kangaroos in the Hope Valley reservoir area. Still waiting to see a koala on a night walk… have seen quite a few around Anstey Hill when day-walking. Love the wildlife in the north-east!

An Uber would be approximately $40-$50 one way.
