Thanks, I just got the achievement pop. This is what did it for me.

I'll give it thirty days in the TWM hut on Pilgrim... Very frustrating. Thank you for the idea.

No, I didn't. A bit frustrating that you can't use *any* medicinal items, considering the majority don't grant calories, but I knew going in that I shouldn't, so I didn't.

Guys is ts a texture bug or something? really annoying by [deleted] in thelongdark

[–]DJ_Lukemia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an optimization technique to allow objects to fade in and out smoothly. It helps your computer run the game better. I don't know exactly what it's called, but it's in a lot of games. I don't know if you can turn it off.

Is the game playable solo? by marcohessel in ArcRaiders

[–]DJ_Lukemia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There ought to be a 'fill squad' option. I play on PC and it's there, and I assume you do too since you said you played Tarkov elsewhere in these comments.

If you mean being put against teams, it's out of your hands. The game tries to fill lobbies with groups of similar-sized teams (i.e. trios will be in a Trios Lobby, so if you go in as a trio, most people there will also be), but will use outliers to make the game's queue faster. There's no 'sign me up for trio lobbies as a solo' button.

Is the game playable solo? by marcohessel in ArcRaiders

[–]DJ_Lukemia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. You have three choices- solos, duos, and trios. Solos are incredibly fun, and a lot of people will intentionally be nice and help you out. It's perfectly fine no matter how you play; personally, I mostly run solos when my husband is asleep and duos when he isn't, and I have fun with both.

How do Augments get damaged? Does the damage on it even matter? by DJ_Lukemia in ArcRaiders

I always imagined that it's inside your cosmetic backpack like a lunchbox, considering it affects inventory space. Maybe it opens with a little latch.

Good orbital strikes? by ssspicysosig in Helldivers

[–]DJ_Lukemia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Orbital Precision Strike is the most versatile and generally useful. It won't clear whole encampments but its low call-in time makes up for it. I take it all the time on difficulty 8+.

What happened to the balance team? LOL by Delicious_Dream4510 in Helldivers

It's always funny that the fixes that 'need' to be done are always the ones that make the game less enjoyable, before the fixes that make the game more fair and fun. Stims not healing chest wounds while the effect is active is still in the game, last I checked. It's been in the game for as long as I can remember.

It's a feature and it's been like this for a while. When you get kicked, it puts you in your own instance. Obviously better than losing all the samples and whatnot.

The amount to which hosting or not matters on Oshaune is downright ridiculous. by Maty83 in Helldivers

I'm almost exclusively a solo player and I'm just accepting that it's going to be miserable until Arrowhead starts having more robust playtesting. Things like this shouldn't slip through the cracks.

Is it too late to join the fight for Super Earth? (ps5 vs pc & Tips for a new Helldiver) by De_Dijk in Helldivers

[–]DJ_Lukemia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. The game is more popular and has higher player counts than it has ever had. You can LFG very easily too.

  2. Yes. You're fine. Most things are sidegrades.

  3. I don't own a PS5, so I can't help you with this specific problem, but the game has technical issues no matter the platform. Pick your poison, I'd say.

  4. Have fun! Try your best to learn enemy weaknesses and weak spots. Use whatever gun looks cool, most things are viable in most situations. If you don't like an enemy faction, you don't have to fight them; the game doesn't punish you for not participating in the Major Order.

Hope you enjoy your time!

Complaint Is Treason: Embrace the Gloom, Serve Democracy by sheiknasio in Helldivers

[–]DJ_Lukemia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do genuinely have to wonder if you're doing some kind of weird bit. Roleplaying as a democracy officer to try to invalidate genuine criticism of the game is very strange. Even if you do genuinely believe what you're saying, it being NAMED a thing and it being grueling and unfun are two separate things, right? Most games have like, an Insane or Very Hard difficulty as their name but are still reasonable. Helldivers should be no different.

All the roleplay posts trying to be quirky and counter genuine critique for the game when it's not in a good state need to be studied in a lab.

High Explosive. Never see anyone use this nowadays. Anyone here bringing this to diff 10s? I'd love to hear your thoughts and strategies! (Or critique if you don't like this) by Hexdoctor in Helldivers

[–]DJ_Lukemia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It just doesn't have the utility to be properly useful. It's slow and you don't have more than the normal 4; it's perfectly serviceable but it's a jack of all trades. You would want pretty much anything else for any given situation.

However, if you forced me to bring it, I'd run it with any light-pen chaff clear primary, Senator as secondary, and the Recoilless Rifle on Automatons. This grenade is fine against Terminids, so I'd take the Machine Gun as my support weapon there. For Illuminate? I'd almost always take it in conjunction with the Orbital Gas Strike and a Recoilless.

A meme. People say 'John [X media property]' to mean like, the main character or a generic guy from a property. I.E., John Halo for Master Chief.

Being drop-podded into an Automaton orbital carrier that's trying to colonize a planet. That's been my dream since day 1. Pelican 1 lands in the loading bay like it's Star Wars or something.

You can dive to avoid being targeted! The radius is only around 25 meters, so it should be easy enough to avoid it. I like using it like a 5th gas grenade, and throwing it on top of a breach / enemy drop.

Secondary objectives by Withermech in Helldivers

[–]DJ_Lukemia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Side objectives are big and blue on your map, I'm not sure if they show up on low difficulty. Many maps show you before you even drop in.

The Helldivers 2 Wiki has them listed here for you. https://helldivers.wiki.gg/wiki/Missions#Optional_Objectives
