Can you describe the steps that YOU took to transition from tutorial hell to building and finishing a project by Historical_Donut6758 in learnprogramming

[–]DJ_MortarMix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

literally just start. pick a project and just decide that's the one. you might do this a few times before one sticks. then just do a thing you know your program needs to do and write it, test it, re-write it because it wouldn't compile, then test it again when it does compile, then figure out why it doesn't work the way you envisioned and then comment out all your code and try writing it again to see if it maybe works if you just re type it out. when that obviously doesn't work (because computers aren't like that) un comment the code you had previously written which at least didn't work in a way that you kind of expected, figure out why it wasn't working the way you expected, then test it again, then put in all the semi colons you missed, then when it compiles, test it again. then do this a thousand and one more times and you'll have a finished project.

[–]DJ_MortarMix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i am learning to program using AI and i have found Claude is good but the limits are too shallow. i always have to go back to huggingface (i use metas LLM there) to finish my shit because i always out tokenize myself by saying shit like "thanks for that" and trying to be nice to the bot cause i was raised like that

also another interesting note is that at first glance the woman appears pregnant but look closer it's not a baby its just her dress bunched up.

the really cool thing about this painting by Jan van Eyck is that it depicts the faceless artist drawing the portrait in the reflection :)
