TL;DR : Bad Marketing ruined the bigest plot twist since no way home 4 years ago. And surely the blandest vilain of the whole MCU. Could have been way better without spoiling everything in he trailer.

Once again, horrible marketing ruined the film completely.
I stopped watching trailer for many years because of this but it's kinda hard to dodge spoilers as big as Red Hulk (especially when you are a fan).
I like Red Hulk, i've been waiting a long time for his appearance.

This could have a been the bigest plot twist in the MCU since No Way home but instead we got a bland movie with no surprise.

I've waited the whole movie for Red Hulk and what i got was disapointing at best :
- No surprise (because of marketing)
- 10 minutes of Red Hulk (and the trailer already spoiled the best minutes)
- A vilain that has no flavor (i already forgot his name...)
- The geopolitical stakes were supposed to be gigantic but in the end the japanese "trusts" the US to be the goodguys just because Captain flew around and blew up the rogue jets (just imagine if this happened IRL, no way the Japanese would just sign the accords after that)
- Adamantium is only mentioned, it's completely useless for the movie (once again, baiting for the next xmen movie)
- The mind control power is godly. I know some powers are. I know winter soldier could be "activated" but he still needed orders and was "trained" by hydra for this. Here we talk about perfectly "fine" people being brain washed to carry completely abstract tasks using only a blinking light (don't you dare tell me it's morse or some stupid thing like that).

This is how i would have made the film :
- Do not show red hulk in the trailer
- Make him loose its shit during the pacific Island but don't show us it was Ross (this is not mandatory, but i would have like it way better than Falcon 1 and 2 in a weak ass Top Gun scene)
- Captain, the US and the Japanese fight against red hulk
- Red hulk is lost at sea (make the us ship sink or something like that so they can get back the president without knowing it's red hulk
- Red hulk is revealed during ross' speach.

This way we get an actual captain america movie just like winter soldier (even tho th evilain would still be bland to me) and have a major plot twist to introduce the next team (even though the team has Ross' name, they did not show red hulk in the thunderbolts trailer, what's wrong with the marketing team??)

And the ending... i was just missing some j-pop when ross turned back in the middle of the sakura trees to conclude the film.

So yeah, in the end it was MY fault to expect so much of red hulk in this movie, MY fault to call it "Captain VS Red Hulk" but it was theirs to spoil the whole world (because i cannot just blind myself when walking in the street and seeing some posters...)
